CoverMyMeds is looking for a Sr Manager, Data Engineering to join our Business Support team. The Sr Manager, Data Engineer leads a data engineering team comprised of highly technical and results-drivenengineers, analysts and architects focused on providing our internal and external clients with high quality, repeatable and scalable data solutions. Together with our various business units, the work this data engineering team performs ultimately helps get more people the medicine they need to live healthier lives.
* Our ideal candidate will reside in the Columbus, Ohio area near our CoverMyMeds headquarters. Position will support work from home with occasional time in office. We may consider a highly qualified candidate outside of Columbus.

What You'll Do:
The Sr Manager, Data Engineering is responsible for leading a team of Engineers, Analysts and Solution Managers to support the development and delivery of pharmacy data products and solutions that deliver great experiences for our internal and external clients and consumers of data. To achieve this goal, the Sr Managerworks closely with our product and application engineering teams to understand, document and prioritizeclient and business requirements and develophigh quality data products. Additionally, you'llbe responsible for leading Data Engineering customer facing discussions, sharing applicable processes, handling escalations and ensuring clear and crafting concise communication on current capabilities, job status and technical issues.
As a collaborative leader, the Sr Manager, Data Engineering will work hand in hand with our Decision Intelligence,Data Operations and Platform Engineering teams to ensure our technology platform meets the needs of internal and external customers. This leader will also work with our broader Data Engineering teams to align with team standards and processes, avoid duplication, and maximize effectiveness and efficiency.
Position Description:
Lead, mentor, guide, and grow a team of talented engineers and analysts to deliver products with high quality, on time delivery and designed to meet the needs of the business
Understand how end users leverage data throughout the organization, considering the perspective of Operations, Client Management, Decision Intelligence and Data Science and recommend solutions to improve data availability and ease of use
Regularly communicate the status of team initiatives to IT leadership, clients and business partners
Participate and collaborate in design reviews to communicate high-level approaches with team members to validate strategic client and business needs are met and established processes are followed.
Provide evaluations, analysis, and recommendations for system enhancements, performance optimization techniques, and development methodology advancements
Stay up to date on the features and functions of our data platforms, understanding and able to speak to the technical capabilities regarding Data Warehousing, Master Data, Data Privacy, Data Masking and Data Migration
Ensure that team is tracking and communicating team capacity and velocity. Serve as a coach to help business stakeholders and team prioritize work within team capacity
Skills You’ll Need:
Typically has 9+ years of professional experience and 1+ years of management experience
Experience working in complex environments with legacy systems
Understanding of Data Integration/ETL tools and concepts, with the ability to guide discussions with a highly technical team on design approach
Experience gathering requirements and working with Business owners
5+ years’ experience in project management, requirements definition and/ or deployment of business requirements to information systems
Deep understanding of the function and business value of data platforms or a strong aptitude and desire to obtain the knowledge necessary to be the conduit between our data teams and our business partners
Experience with overseeing and optimizing data warehouse operations, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance
Ability to lead the modernization strategy from on-premises (Linux, Oracle, Perl, Python) to cloud-based platforms like Azure, Databricks, and Snowflake
Experience with ensuring smooth migration of ETL processes, data pipelines, and workflows, while maintaining data integrity and security
Experience with ensuring compliance with HIPAA, security, and governance best practices in a highly regulated healthcare data environment
Ability to partner with business, product, and compliance teams to align engineering efforts with organizational priorities
Experience collaborating with security and infrastructure teams to maintain compliance and operational stability
Preferred Skills:
10+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role managing high-performing engineering teams
Strong expertise in data warehousing, ETL, and large-scale data processing in Linux and Oracle-based environments
Experience managing and migrating legacy Oracle, Linux, Perl, and Python-based systems to modern cloud platforms (Azure, Databricks, Snowflake preferred).
Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop teams through modernization and cloud transformation
