McKesson Medical-Surgical is seeking a Field Vice President, GPO National Accounts. This role will be responsible for building and maintaining effective long-term relationships and driving revenue growth with large, complex, multi-service GPOs—specifically focused on the Premier GPO and its associated sponsors. The Field Vice President, GPO National Accounts is strategically critical to the growth and success of McKesson’s national accounts portfolio. This is a remote position within the United States and will require travel by air approximately 30%.

Key Responsibilities

Account Strategy & Relationship Management:

  • Develop and execute master strategies for assigned Premier GPOs and sponsors, ensuring alignment with contractual obligations and growth objectives.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Premier GPO stakeholders, fostering strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers.
  • Drive customer satisfaction by aligning McKesson’s offerings with client goals and ensuring high service levels, financial performance, and operational reliability.

Growth & Expansion:

  • Identify and pursue opportunities to expand McKesson’s footprint within Premier GPO member organizations.
  • Collaborate across McKesson business units to uncover cross-functional growth opportunities.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and pricing strategies to inform business development efforts.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance McKesson’s competitive positioning and win new business through Premier GPO channels.

Education & Enablement:

  • Educate internal sales teams on Premier GPO structures, value propositions, and engagement strategies.
  • Actively participate in national and regional sales meetings to align field execution with strategic objectives.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent and typically requires 10+ years of relevant experience in the healthcare industry. Less years required if candidate has relevant Master’s or Doctorate qualifications

  • 5+ years GPO management and/or administration
  • 5+ years of Premier GPO experience highly preferred
  • 3+ years of distribution experience preferred

Skills & Competencies:

  • Proven consultative selling skills at the C-suite level
  • Strong negotiation and strategic planning capabilities
  • Demonstrated success supporting large, complex customer accounts
  • Deep understanding of healthcare distribution and GPO dynamics
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Ability to understand and articulate the value of technology platforms and customer connectivity tools

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Master’s degree preferred

Other Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • Willingness to travel approximately 30%

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$147,800 - $246,300
