Program Overview

McKesson’s Intern program is designed to provide:

Work Term: Fall 2025: September 2nd through December 19th

Location: Mississauga, ON, CAN - 2300 Meadowvale Blvd (Hybrid)

Job Summary:
This student will be assigned a project-focused opportunity in a specific business unit and works directly with an Intern Coordinator and Sponsor. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain practical experience in a dynamic and growing industry. The internship program also provides networking, access to executives, structured performance & coaching and fun, local activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with a cross-functional team (support analysts, developers, and operations) 

  • Manage database application for capacity, availability, performance, and data integrity.

  • Install, configure, and clone environments for development, testing and production.

  • Organize work and prioritize effectively with outstanding attention to detail.

  • Design solutions to meet user requirements with focus on delivery within project timelines.

  • Strive for delivery of technical work to very highstandards.

  • Evaluate products/tools and recommend technical direction.


Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential task satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required for this position.

  • Student enrolled in a bachelor's degree program, graduating or in 3rd year (computer science or IT-related field).

  • 3+ years experience with Microsoft .NET

  • Experience with DOS scripting, XML and Web Services, Python, PowerShell 

  • Strong experience in writing unit tests and working with automated testing tools.

  • Strong understanding of application development methodologies

  • Knowledge of application design patterns and frameworks

  • Knowledge of Agile Methodologies (Scrum / Kanban) environment 

  • Strong T-SQL skills and ability to design complex routines and triggers.

  • Advanced analytical, troubleshooting, debugging and diagnostic skills.

  • Understanding of all aspects of Software Development Lifecycle

  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 

  • Ability to prioritize and escalate issues as needed.

  • Experience with Datawarehouse and Big Data reporting tools (Power BI, Snowflake, etc.) reporting an asset. 

  • Demonstrate foundational knowledge of Artificial Intelligence and its integration within modern development workflows.

    • Preferred experience includes working with AI/ML platforms such as OpenAI (ChatGPT, Codex APIs, Microsoft Copilot), Azure AI Services (Cognitive Services, Azure OpenAI), Familiarity with implementing AI-driven features—such as chatbots, automated ticket triaging, or intelligent monitoring/alerting—is a strong asset.
    • Exposure to prompt engineering, Python-based scripting for automation, and RESTful API integration is desirable.
    • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and how AI can enhance DevOps practices (e.g., anomaly detection, predictive maintenance) is a plus.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$17.69 - $27.74
