How You can Make an Impact
The Ontada team draws upon deep expertise in data science, data analytics, and real-world clinical data to deliver innovative data-driven strategies and insights for clients in the life sciences industry across all phases of product development and commercialization. The Data Scientist will join an internal data platform team that acts as the translational layer between the mCODE based common data model and downstream customer facing data products. This person will be responsible for obtaining and validating raw data, performing analysis, and acting as the subject matter expert for downstream users of the data platform. The person will have an in-depth knowledge of software, documentation, utilities & program scripts, as well as excellent written & verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Analyzes raw healthcare data from multiple sources, such as electronic health records and claims data, using algorithms and statistical programming
- Interacts with stakeholders to clarify needs and review results
- Proactively communicates, collaborates, and builds cross-functional relationships
- Ability to formulate and implement effective data strategies, and identify areas for significant efficiency gain through automation
- Provides quality assurance and validation with focus on data manipulation, building standardized pipelines
- Working autonomously with limited direct supervision and ensuring work is on track, accurate, and communicated across impacted individuals and teams
Minimum Requirements
- 3+ years as a Data Scientist; experience in Life Sciences, Health tech, or Pharma Industry required
- Advanced Python and/or SQL skills
- Cloud fundamentals, with proficiency in DataBricks preferred
- Must have experience working in Jira or other software development tools using agile processes
- Excellent attention to detail and desire to continuously learn and develop professionally

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.
