The Role

The Vice President, Human Resources Business Partner (VP, HRBP) will be responsible for supporting the McKesson Technology team, based at our corporate headquarters in Las Colinas, TX. The successful candidate will be an experienced HR leader who can effectively interact with senior business leaders, operate with significant Technology business acumen, and lead/execute on key business initiatives. The VP, HRBP will be a kay partner and advisor to McKesson’s enterprise CIO/CTO, his Executive Leadership Team, and will lead 4 HRBPs.

The executive will report to the Vice President, Human Resources of McKesson Technology and Finance.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic HR Leadership:

  • Oversee the development and implementation of HR strategies that align with the IT function's transformation goals, including the building of an skills based IT function and career framework.

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to IT leadership on workforce planning, organizational design, and cultural change initiatives.

Change Management:

  • Oversee change management efforts to support the IT function's transition to new systems and processes, ensuring minimal disruption and high employee engagement.

  • Oversee communication plans to keep employees informed and motivated throughout the transformation journey.

Career Framework and Workforce Planning:

  • Oversee the implementation of a new career framework that supports the IT function’s strategic objectives and promotes career growth and retention.

This role requires a visionary leader with a deep understanding of HR best practices and a strong ability to navigate complex organizational changes. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills, a strategic mindset, and the ability to influence and drive results.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

15+ years of professional experience and 10+ years of diversified leadership, planning, communication, organization, and people motivation skills (or equivalent experience).

  • Resiliency - resilient and committed HR partner with a proven track record of working in and influencing across a matrixed environment, and building trust amongst peers and key stakeholder, as well as ability to achieve results through colleagues and partners. 

  • Proven experience and expertise in leading a large organization through transformation - successfully navigating ambiguity, complexity, and uncertainty.

  • Ability to Drive Results - action-oriented individual in challenging and complex situations. Takes a pragmatic approach to solving problemsLooks for opportunities for improvement and can thrive in a changing environment with multiple priorities. 

  • Strong business acumen/financial acumen.

  • A demonstrated track record of acting as a thought leader and partner to executives across multiple teams and geographies balancing the needs of the enterprise with the needs of the business.

  • Prior experience supporting senior executive teams with a track record of proactive decision making and driving results through their strong leadership skills.

  • Demonstrated strategic, critical, analytical, and innovative thinking skills.

  • Proven ability to create a positive culture, with high morale and strong performance.

  • Strong change management and talent management experience.

  • High level of comfort with data and analytics.

Education

Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree strongly preferred.

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$189,000 - $315,000
