Sr. Manager - Employee Philanthropy Programs

Location – Alpharetta, GA.; Columbus, OH; Dallas or Houston, TX; Memphis, TN.; or Richmond, VA

The Role

As a member of the Philanthropic Giving/McKesson Foundation Team, the Senior Manager - Employee Philanthropy Programs is responsible for supporting and driving individual and team volunteerism, matching gifts, McKesson Foundation scholarships and Taking Care of Our Own Fund. The position is an advocate for employee engagement and a liaison between employees and social impact opportunities. The successful Senior Manager - Employee Philanthropy Programs is an experienced employee engagement champion and facilitator with demonstrated success in cultivating internal and external partnerships, setting program strategy and goals, evaluating impact, managing reporting and communication, and creating and leading corporate social responsibility programs.

The Senior Manager will have a direct report and influence employee engagement through trust and credibility with HR, ERG and business colleagues, as well as community partners and business vendors. 

Responsibilities

The Senior Manager - Employee Philanthropy Programs consults with internal and external stakeholders to provide customized and practical options to encourage and enable volunteerism; increase awareness of and participation in employee philanthropy programs; and reliably track, evaluate and report program metrics. 

Community Partnering:

  • Cultivate a network of nonprofit partners with accessible volunteer opportunities in McKesson communities in the U.S. and Canada
  • Provide guidance on a philanthropic volunteer strategy in McKesson communities in the U.S. and Canada

Internal Stakeholder Partnering:

  • Build employee awareness and people leader support for volunteerism, matching gifts, McKesson Foundation scholarships and Taking Care of Our Own Fund
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and partner to conference planners, ERG members, HR and business unit leaders, understanding their volunteer objectives and parameters and providing insights and solutions to identify, coordinate and execute volunteer activities
  • Support individual employees in finding volunteer opportunities aligned with their interests and schedules
  • Manage volunteer recognition programs
  • Co-lead, with Innovation Impact & Activation, McKesson Care Ambassador program

Employee Philanthropy Program Analytics and Metrics:

  • Develop and monitor key program metrics and dashboards to track, evaluate and report on initiatives; identify trends; and make strategic recommendations
  • Optimize grants management platform to collect and analyze data to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities for improvement in employee philanthropy program processes and practices

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the senior grants administrator, fostering a high-performing and collaborative culture
  • Develop and execute professional development plans for employee philanthropic program team member, ensuring their continuous growth and career advancement

Critical Skills

  • Strategic Thinking: evaluating industry trends, developing long-term implications, and recommending pragmatic strategies for new program opportunities
  • Analytical Rigor: ability to bring structure to ill-defined problems and intellectual leadership to problem solving; synthesize insights from analysis and ensure credible, actionable recommendations
  • Portfolio & Program Management: ability to identify, plan, and implement strategic initiatives and priorities identified by the Global Impact Leadership Team; able to develop processes to improve efficiencies and optimization
  • Financial Acumen: understanding and ability to develop financial modeling and experience with financial planning, budgeting, and capital allocation in the context of strategic planning to maximize the Philanthropic Giving/McKesson Foundation’s impact and value
  • Communications Skills: ability to develop rapport and credibility across the organization, promote ideas and proposals persuasively through written and oral communications; ability to manage controversial situations including senior level leaders, external groups, and customers
  • Enthusiasm and Passion: demonstrate visible track record where influence and “know how” made a positive impact on society and a commitment to the company's mission and values.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working within a matrixed, high-growth organization
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in building and/or managing employee volunteer, matching gifts and related programs
  • Minimum 3 years of administrator experience with an employee giving and volunteer management platform
  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement, strategic planning, and driving initiatives across an organization

Education

Required:

  • 4-year degree in business or related field or equivalent experience

Preferred:

  • Certification preferred unless an advanced degree is attained

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$90,700 - $151,100
