Position Description

McKesson is looking for a Lead Generative AI Product Owner to join its growing Generative AI team. You will be driving innovation and efficiencies by leveraging emerging technology solutions to solve complex business problems.  You will work on greenfield projects with a flexible team with a start-up feel but with the stability of a successful corporation. You will have the ability to shape the products and make a real impact on the lives of others by creating the next generation of AI powered tools. 

Responsibilities

The Lead Generative AI Product Owner will strategically market McK Generative AI technology capabilities to McK Business Units to inform new/existing development of GenAI products and services. Some tactical responsibilities include work with the business to document GenAI use case specific requirements, create functional stories, create test plans, execute system testing, and coordinate UAT. May flex upstream for intake and/or take on strategic projects.

• Align to and embody McKesson’s iCare and iLead values / culture

• Strategic Partner – Establish strategic relationships with the business to enable reimagining their value-add workflows

• Product Marketing – Come up with business engagement strategies to invest and adopt Generative AI technologies

• Stakeholder Engagement – Act as the primary point of contact between the development team and business stakeholders​

• Requirement Gathering – Gather, clarify, and prioritize business and technical requirements​

• Vision Communication – Articulate the product vision and roadmap to the development team and stakeholders​

• Provide direction and structure to junior members of the team, cross-functional teams, and/or third-party associates operating in the same capacity as this discipline   

• Backlog Management – Prioritize and maintain the product backlog​

• Acceptance Criteria and Testing – Define clear acceptance criteria for user stories and ensure deliverables meet quality standards​

• Technical Debt Management – balance the need for new features with the need to address technical debt​

• Documentation and Training – Ensure that appropriate documentation is provided to support teams involved in the product's lifecycle

• An accomplished communicator both verbal and written

• Understanding of agile and software development life cycle concepts

• Be able to work on several priorities simultaneously

• Ability to work to tight deadlines

• Work in a complex environment with McKesson and third-party workers

Minimum Requirements:

Requires 7+ years of relevant experience

Critical Skills:

In depth knowledge/experience with the following:

• Exceptional Verbal and Written Communication

• Knowledge of Generative and Applied AI Concepts

• Building AI Products/Programs Inside Large Companies

• Influence and Relationship Building

• Experience Working with Agile Development Teams

• Learning mentality and keeping up with advances in Generative AI Technology

Additional Experience:

• Knowledge of Azure AI services

• Generative AI and Large Language Models

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science) or equivalent experience
