Director, Business Process

We are seeking a strategic, results-driven and people-focused Director, Business Process Excellence to drive impactful process improvement initiatives across our organization. In this role, you will help shape and drive a process improvement strategy that enables business growth, operational efficiency and enterprise-wide value creation. Success in this role depends on your ability to influence senior level stakeholders, drive enterprise-wide alignment, strategically move the team forward and develop a high-performing team of process improvement leaders.

Starting Base Pay is between 150,000 - 165,000 based on skills and qualifications for this role in the Dallas and Houston areas.

Starting Base Pay is between 142,000 - 158,000 based on skills and qualifications for this role in the Columbus, Richmond and Alpharetta areas.

What You’ll Do:

  • Define and execute a process excellence strategy that aligns with enterprise priorities and delivers measurable business outcomes.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration across a matrixed organization, ensuring seamless integration of process improvements into business operations.
  • Partner with senior executives and functional leaders to identify and prioritize high-impact initiatives that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer and employee experience.
  • Influence decision-making at all levels by translating process insights into strategic recommendations that align with business objectives.
  • Lead the governance of process excellence initiatives, establishing accountability, performance metrics, and a framework for continuous improvement.
  • Develop and mentor a team of process improvement professionals, equipping them with the skills to drive sustainable change and enterprise-wide impact.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement by embedding Lean Six Sigma principles and change management best practices across the organization.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies, and operational best practices, leveraging insights to evolve process excellence capabilities.

What You Bring:

  • Strategic mindset with the ability to connect process improvement to broader business objectives and long-term value creation.
  • Proven success operating within a matrixed organization, driving alignment and execution across multiple stakeholders and business functions.
  • Exceptional influencing and communication skills, with the ability to gain buy-in at all levels, including senior executives.
  • Deep expertise in Lean Six Sigma, operational excellence, and enterprise process transformation, with a track record of delivering tangible business impact.
  • Ability to lead through complexity and ambiguity, balancing strategic vision with tactical execution.
  • Strong experience mentoring and developing teams, fostering a high-performance culture focused on innovation and continuous improvement.

  • Degree or equivalent experience, typically requires 12+ years of professional experience and 4+ years of management experience.
  • Work is performed mostly remotely, with timely on-site presence to the hub or location for collaborative engagement
  • May require travel outside your hub or location

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$124,400 - $207,400
