​Reporting to the Sr. Process Improvement – Lean Specialist, the Process Improvement Lean (Continuous Improvement) Specialist plays a critical role in driving process efficiencies and productivity improvements across the 3PL Business. The Specialist identifies opportunities and makes process recommendations through partnership with the business. The Specialist also fosters and develops effective relationships with BU segment leaders and functions across the supply chain. Partners with stakeholders to identify, define, prioritize, and execute process efficiency and productivity initiatives. The Specialist needs to have a passion for improving the status quo and can act on the conveyed sense of urgency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes and measures the effectiveness of existing business processes and develops sustainable, repeatable, and quantifiable business process improvements. Research best business practices within and outside the organization to establish benchmark data. Collects and analyzes process data to initiate, develop, and recommend business practices and procedures that focus on enhanced service, quality, increased productivity, and reduced cost. Determines how new information technologies can support reengineering business processes. May specialize in one or more of the following areas: value stream mapping, business process analysis and reengineering, change management and measurement, and/or process-driven systems requirements.
  • Leads / facilitates continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, etc.) for 3PL business. Works to improve Service, Quality and Cost by evaluating the enterprise value streams, identifying improvement opportunities and uses Lean methodologies to facilitate change. Works directly with clients as needed to optimize customer experience.
  • Works on highly complex issues where analysis of situation requires an in-depth understanding of organizational objectives. Applies strategic goals and direction to obtain results. Regularly interacts with management on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers. Influences the development of relationships with customers who have critically strategic value.
  • Responsible for identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives for business processes, quality, service, costing, waste, productivity, and client satisfaction.
  • Works with the business to ensure Metrics and KPIs are established and/or revised in relation to continuous improvement initiatives – allowing for Operational hand-off and subsequent Operational performance management.
  • Works across various functional areas to drive projects and initiatives.
  • Provides timely and value-added insights, operational direction and updates on continuous improvement initiatives assigned.
  • Positively influence all levels of management across the organization to ensure that process improvement activities receive the necessary support and are resourced adequately to ensure the proper and timely implementation of solutions.
  • Work up and down stream with sales, customer service, transportation, operations, regulatory & procurement on joint improvement efforts.
  • Works closely with clients and customers to ensure optimal outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent and typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Formal Lean or Six Sigma certification preferred

Critical Experience:

  • Experience in facilitating continuous improvement events to include large-scale initiatives that require extensive change management both internally and externally with multiple priorities - meeting firm project completion deadlines preferred
  • Healthcare experience strongly desired

Personal Development and Soft Skills:

  • Strong business acumen
  • Highly skilled continuous improvement event facilitator
  • Demonstrated autonomist; ability to work on own initiative
  • Excellent partnering skills and proven ability to collaborate with various levels of management and employees
  • Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to develop rapport and credibility across the organization, promote ideas and proposals persuasively

Technical Skills:

  • Advanced level computer skills & knowledge in typical business software including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other specialized Project Planning and MRP/ERP type software packages
  • Strong analytical skills to identify areas for improvement and to analyze data to measure the impact of improvement initiatives
  • Must have a strong understanding of Lean or Six Sigma methodology and process improvement tools to include data analysis techniques

Other Skills and Capabilities:

  • Experience working with senior management
  • Ability to work as part of multi-functional teams
  • Strong sense of summary and ability to synthesize
  • Ability to identify operational issues and proactively drive solutions

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$82,000 - $136,600
