Position Description

The VBC Manager is responsible for creating the vision and leading the evolution of Provider Solution practices in the areas of value-based care, payer program performance, patient experience, care team satisfaction, quality program outcomes, and other high priority areas of healthcare transformationValue-based care will be at the core of this role, but broader practice transformation is key

The VBC Account Manager will directly engage with Provider Solutions Practices on strategies and opportunities to transform with clear line of sight to value for patients, providers, practices, payers, and programsTo enable for this to occur, the Manager will provide an ongoing effective and focused vision creating a path to partner, collaborate, and achieve goalsMcKesson’s ICARE/ILEAD values are the foundation of how the Manager will succeed in leading and partnering with others in this roleThis position requires coordination across various McKesson & Ontada teams, including technology, analytics, regulatory, legal, compliance, quality portfolio, revenue cycle, marketing/communications, and the managed care team to streamline areas of focus, minimize duplication of development efforts, improve the usability/impact/value of solutions, and create alignment.  

This role is responsible for leading Ontada practices' performance, and participation compliance on all aspects of regulatory (e.g., Medicare Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS), Alternative Payment Models (APMs), Enhanced Oncology Care Model (EOM), Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs), …) and commercial value-based care programsThis role will also assure Provider Solutions practices hit all key deliverables, dates, and adoption to maximize performance in tandem with avoiding downside financial and audit risk with Medicare & all types of payer programs.  

Key Responsibilities 

  • Support assigned practices with suite of Value-Based Care arrangements

  • Function as a subject matter expert in VBC to support practices and the Advisory Services team. 

  • Assure alignment and collaboration across value-based care programs functional areas, Provider Solutions, Ontada, and McKesson teams to assure consistent and common delivery of guidance, support, communication, education, workflow, adoption, etc. so practices can perform using best practices in a value-based environment with a sustainable level of effort across regulatory and commercial programs.   

  • Leverage support, partnerships, and ideas sharing across the Provider Solutions, Ontada, & McKesson teams to deliver the right support, solutions, and tools to the practices at the right time to execute regulatory, transformation, and program goals. 

  • Provide guidance and escalation support for Provider Solutions practices by partnering with the Network and Ontada Account Managers.  

  • Recommend and take action to direct the evaluation of and solution to problems. Assess program issues and risks and develop resolutions to address them. Escalate issues and risks at the appropriate time to the appropriate leadership and/or practice committees.

  • Develop education, best practices, and consultative offerings using McKesson technology.

  • Engage McKesson and Ontada leadership on the overall value-based care strategy and roadmap to meet the near and long-term needs of practices utilizing our support and solutionsEnsure that the value to Provider Solutions practices, McKesson, &Ontada are clear and are endorsed by key stakeholders.

Minimum Requirement

Degree or equivalent and typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience.

Education 

Bachelor’s degree in related field

Preferred master’s degree in related field or equivalent experience

Critical Skills

  • 4+ years’ experience inin healthcare delivery, business, strategy, and consulting.

  • Knowledge of regulatory programs, clinical quality measurement/programs, & healthcare analytics.

  • Knowledge of value-based care and quality payment regulatory (e.g., QPP, MIPS, EOM, APMs, ACOs, etc.) and commercial programs.

  • Strong knowledge of clinical and operational processes (oncology experience is ideal).

  • Experience in driving adoption of technology; specifically, ambulatory EHRs (oncology specific), ePROs, portals, quality measurement systems and reporting tools.

  • Experience with Healthcare including Clinical Delivery, Managed Care, Revenue Cycle Management, Commercial/Regulatory Quality Programs/Measurement, Electronic Medical Records and or Electronic Health Records (especially EHRs used in an ambulatory and/or oncology setting) is an advantage. Job experience as a consultant, educator, or compliance professional in healthcare is preferred. 

Additional Knowledge & Skills

  • Well versed in leading change & engaging teams, practices, leaders & providers driving change locally and across the team. 

  • Proficient in process improvement and redesign to ensure sustainable outcomes with past proven success. 

  • Strong communication skills and ability to simplify complex programs for a multi-disciplinary audience.

  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary projects orprograms.

  • Strong leadership, networking, and collaboration skills; ability to harness and leverage strengths of the broader McKesson team.

  • Able to work with cross functional teams/stakeholders and at a high pace to meet tight deadlines.

  • Ability to lead workgroup sessions with practice leadership, physicians, and/or clinicians on workflow and adoption of technology.

  • Ability to partner with leadership, physicians, clinicians, technology, payers, data vendors, etc. on complex programs. 

Travel

Travel estimated at 20% or less.

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$81,400 - $135,600
