The Director of Organization Effectiveness & Change Leadership is responsible for driving organizational transformation, change leadership, and business activation across a wide portfolio of programs and internal customer groups. This role partners with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to design and implement strategies that enhance organizational effectiveness, enable the realization of strategic initiatives, and activate business capabilities. The director will approach each customer interaction with genuine curiosity and attentive listening, seeking to understand their unique perspectives, needs, and challenges. The role will also be responsible for monitoring and advising on robust organizational systems that drive efficiency, adaptability, and measurable business outcomes. The role will lead a team of internal employees and experienced external partners and own a budget for partnerships with professional services providers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategies to drive organizational effectiveness, change leadership, and business activation in alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Lead the development and implementation of change management plans for strategic initiatives across diverse programs and customer groups.
  • Partner with senior leaders to identify, prioritize, and resource key initiatives, establishing metrics to measure progress and success.
  • Approach each customer interaction with genuine curiosity and attentive listening, seeking to understand their unique perspectives, needs, and challenges, while asking thoughtful questions and providing space for them to fully express themselves.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to leaders and employees on change management principles and practices.
  • Lead project teams in implementing change initiatives, including stakeholder engagement, communication planning, and change readiness assessments.
  • Develop and implement processes and tools to drive continuous improvement and optimize business processes.
  • Ensure effective activation of business initiatives, including risk identification, mitigation strategies, and stakeholder communication.
  • Foster an environment conducive to successful organizational and change delivery, including clarity of services, priorities, and partnerships.
  • Facilitate design and implementation of scalable systems that enhance cross-functional collaboration, information flow, and decision-making processes.
  • Support the definition of key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of organizational systems and their impact on business results.
  • Lead the integration of new technologies and tools to support and enhance organizational systems.
  • Facilitate design and implementation of operating models and organizational structures
  • Develop and implement knowledge management systems to capture, share, and leverage organizational insights and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, organizational psychology, or related field; master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in organization effectiveness, change leadership, strategy realization, and business activation.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale organizational change initiatives across diverse programs and customer groups.
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing organizational systems that drive business performance.
  • Experience with organizational design methodologies and their application in complex business environments.
  • Knowledge of systems thinking and its application to organizational effectiveness.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to drive decision-making.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
  • Solid business acumen and understanding of organizational performance drivers.
  • Change management certification (e.g., Prosci, ACMP) preferred.

Change Management: Articulates the business case for change, evaluates change readiness, and manages sustained change and transition.

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$104,600 - $174,300
