Current Need

Reporting to the Chief Data Officer (CDO) of Ontada, the Senior Director of the Data Science organization will lead the data science team in deploying advanced analytics solutions to drive business strategies and tangible value for product teams and stakeholders.

The ideal candidate possesses a proven track record in leveraging complex, scalable NLP pipelines and implementing AI/NLP solutions to achieve business goals. With a strong background in leading transformational change and building high-performing teams, this candidate will play a crucial role in the introduction of innovative technologies/products to enhance our platform's data environment and deliver AI-powered experiences.

This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of data science methodologies and a proven track record of delivering impactful results.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the NLP roadmap for the Ontada organization.

• Lead and mentor a team of data scientists, analysts, and engineers to develop and deploy data-driven solutions.

• Provide expert-level coaching, mentorship, and feedback fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Drive transformational change within the organization.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive outcomes.

• Drive the exploration, evaluation, and implementation of cutting-edge AI, and NLP technologies.

• Develop and implement data science strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.

• Oversee the design and execution of complex data analysis projects, including predictive modeling, natural language processing, and statistical analysis.

• Stay current with industry trends and advancements in data science and analytics.

• Oversee the program management of the NLP/AI portfolio including internal and external solutions.

• Establish KPIs and metrics to track the performance and business impact of NLP solutions, reporting regularly to senior leadership.

• Act as a liaison between technical teams and security/compliance teams to ensure AI/NLP solutions meet regulatory and security standards.

• Manage product backlogs, breaking down epics into features and user stories, and prioritizing deliverables to balance short-term enhancements with long-term project goals.

• Coordinate with technical leadership to design NLP-based products, negotiate APIs, and ensure seamless NLP integration with existing systems.

Minimum Requirement

Degree or equivalent experience. Typically requires 13+ years of professional experience and 6+ years of leadership experience.

Education

Master's or Ph.D. in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.

Critical Skills

• 13+ years of experience in data science, data analysis, strategy implementation, data product management, and/or AI/NLP implementation required.

• 6+ years of experience in progressively responsible leadership roles managing teams and cross functional initiatives required.

• Product and AI development in the healthcare space is required.

• Deep understanding of AI/NLP algorithms, NLP techniques, statistical analysis, and predictive modeling with experience applying them to real world business problems.

• Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

• Proven track record of delivering data-driven solutions that drive business growth.

• Meaningful experience working with executive level leadership, influencing strategic decision-making, and driving organizational change.

• Strong business acumen, with the ability to translate data insights and AI/NLP models into tangible business value.

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.
