Lead Material Handler- Warehouse, Shipping
Location: Louisville, KY, USA - 5101 Jeff Commerce Drive
Schedule: Monday to Thursday - 12pm-9:30. Friday – 2pm-6pm. Schedule subject to change based on the needs of the business. OT is mandatory if required.
Compensation: $24.52 + $1 shift differential
Fulltime/permanent- benefit eligible (health, dental), 401K, 5% bonus plan, generous PTO and other perks

Job Summary
The Lead Material Handler is responsible for leading the material handling team in providing accurate inventory management and timely order fulfillment to customers while maintaining safety standards and productivity levels within the warehouse environment.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Manage daily operations of material handlers, including training new employees, assigning tasks, and monitoring performance.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth flow of materials through the supply chain.
Maintain safety standards by enforcing proper lifting techniques and providing necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).
Responsible for accurate unit pick and case pick regarding shipping
May perform order audits for quality assurance
Ensure product orders are reviewed and error corrections are completed
Perform all tasks within the scope of all applicable Standard Operating Procedures related to the job
Other duties as directed by the Supervisor(s)
Minimum Qualifications
Typically requires 5+ years of related experience.
Additional Skills and Qualifications
2+ years of experience in a distribution center /warehouse/ manufacturing environment with some leadership. Internal employees must have at least 6 months of service to qualify.
Experience and/or certification with warehouse equipment such as Forklift, cherry Picker and Reach Truck
Strong knowledge of material handling principles and practices
MS Office experience at a basic level
SAP experience would be considered a strong asset
Basic math and English reading skills and a high standard for attention to detail and accuracy
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Proven ability to be a team lead and player and collaborate well in a diverse environment
Strong focus on customer service and commitment to customer satisfaction
Must be familiar with automation and RF scanners
Reliable and punctual
Ability to prioritize and stay organized in a high paced environment with changing priorities

Physical Demands (some or all may apply):
Must be comfortable working at heights
Must be comfortable working in the freezer and other cold areas within the warehouse
Ability to walk up to 10 miles throughout the course of a shift (steps vary per shift)
Ability to lift 20-40 pounds repetitively throughout the course of a shift without assistance; ability to lift greater weights in a team lift (weight varies based on product)
May sit, stand, stoop, bend and walk intermittently during the day.
May sit or stand seven (7) to ten (10) hours per day.
May be necessary to work extended hours as needed.
Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required.
Visual acuity to see and read fine prints. Specific vision abilities required by this role include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Must be able to hear normal voice sounds.
