McKesson’s Sales Operations & Governance (SO&G) organization is looking for a strategic, creative, and detail-obsessed Sr. Specialist, Marketing Operations to join our high-performing Marketing & Communications team. This pivotal role will serve as the operational engine behind our campaigns, communications, and content — driving project excellence across five core SO&G functions and providing full-service support to our Customer Operations segment, the Sales Ops Center of Excellence.

You’ll lead editorial planning and project workflows, partner with business leaders, and elevate how we engage both internal and external stakeholders across SO&G, Remote Sales & Account Management, and Masters Pharmaceutical.

This is a highly collaborative role that sits on the Marketing & Communications leadership team and touches every part of our creative and strategic communications pursuits. Key Responsibilities

  • Marketing Operations Leadership

    • Own and manage the integrated marketing and communications calendar, aligning all initiatives with SO&G’s strategic imperatives.

    • Lead cross-functional project planning and execution from intake to delivery — ensuring timelines, milestones, and deliverables are met across teams and channels.

    • Oversee campaign operations and creative workflows for internal and external initiatives across SO&G, Customer Operations, Remote Sales, and Masters.

  • Editorial & Content Strategy Oversight

    • Guide the editorial planning process across channels (email, SharePoint, digital, social, event content, internal comms) ensuring cohesive messaging and brand alignment.

    • Maintain a forward-looking content roadmap in partnership with senior stakeholders and content creators.

    • Ensure all messaging is aligned with McKesson’s tone, voice, and values — and customized for key audience segments.

  • Strategic Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement

    • Collaborate with business leaders to understand goals and priorities, translating them into actionable communication plans.

    • Act as a strategic advisor on campaign approach, audience engagement, and creative development.

    • Help position the Shared Services Business Solutions (SSBS) team as a trusted partner and strategic resource across SO&G.

  • Creative Program Support

    • Partner with internal creative resources and vendors to bring campaigns to life across print, digital, and multimedia formats.

    • Identify opportunities to streamline creative requests, improve intake processes, and increase impact.

    • Contribute creative thinking to key initiatives such as national sales meetings, product launches, recognition campaigns, and customer outreach.

  • Analytics & Optimization

    • Establish and track KPIs for communication and campaign performance; provide reporting and insights that improve effectiveness over time.

    • Continuously seek opportunities to optimize processes, drive innovation, and improve stakeholder satisfaction.

Minimum Requirement

Degree or equivalent and typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field.

Critical Skills

  • 7 years of experience in marketing operations, communications, or program management, preferably in a large matrixed organization or healthcare setting.

  • Experience leading editorial planning and campaign execution across internal and external channels.

  • Strong track record of stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration.

Additional Skills

  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills; experience with Asana or similar tools is a plus.

  • Strategic thinker with a creative edge — able to translate complex ideas into compelling campaigns.

  • Strong communicator, facilitator, and collaborator; adept at building relationships and influencing across functions.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to inform decisions and optimize processes.

We are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson as part of our Total Rewards. This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$106,200 - $177,000
