About the Role:
As the Program Manager for the Human Capital Management (HCM) transformation initiative, you will lead a strategic enterprise-wide modernization effort that is a top priority for McKesson’s HR organization. This role will drive the digital transformation of HR capabilities by integrating next-generation HCM platforms and enabling scalable, secure, and future-ready solutions aligned with enterprise IT architecture.
In collaboration with HR, IT, Legal, Finance, Security, and other cross-functional teams, this role will ensure HCM solutions enhance employee experiences, streamline core HR processes, and align with organizational goals. The Program Manager will serve as a bridge between strategic objectives and technical execution, driving innovation and compliance in the HR tech landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Leadership:
- Lead end-to-end delivery of HCM systems modernization programs, ensuring alignment with enterprise-wide HR strategies and architecture.
- Manage program charter, project plans, budgets, risks, and cross-functional team execution across business units.
- Act as liaison between business stakeholders, IT, and third-party vendors to drive delivery excellence and digital transformation in HCM.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, network, Cloud Infrastructure, Finance and customer success, to align project goal.
- Partner with PMO and Program Leaders to identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Communicate program and initiative status, progress, and outcomes to stakeholders and senior leadership through well-established McKesson
- HCM Transformation:
- Oversee the transition from manual and non-standard HCM processes to streamlined, automated, and standardized workflows leveraging latest capabilities.
- Ensure compliance with McKesson's cloud security standards and governance framework.
- Strategic Alignment:
- Translate high-level business objectives into actionable projects that influence long-term growth of HCM capabilities.
- Drive continuous improvement in program management processes and methodologies.
- Collaborate with the HCM Enterprise Architect to define and maintain the HCM technology roadmap.
- Identify architecture gaps, propose transformation initiatives, and align technology investments with long-term HR strategy.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Drive collaboration across HR, Legal, IT Operations, Security, and Finance to ensure alignment and successful delivery of HCM solutions.
- Lead change management efforts to drive system adoption and support for new HR processes and tools.
- Provide training and engagement plans to support end-user readiness and adoption.
- HCM Progeam Delivery:
- Oversee the implementation of cloud-based HCM platforms (e.g., Workday, SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM) and related tools such as timekeeping and workforce analytics.
- Ensure architectural solutions meet performance, compliance, security, and scalability requirements.
- Support data model development program for HR master data, organizational structures, and employee lifecycle processes.
- Governance, Risk & Compliance:
- Ensure HCM systems adhere to internal governance, data privacy, and compliance frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR).
- Conduct architecture and risk reviews to maintain platform integrity and reduce technical debt.
- Performance Metrics & Continuous Improvement:
- Define and track program KPIs that measure business impact, system performance, and adoption.
- Identify process simplification opportunities and drive continuous improvement of HCM systems.
What We’re Looking For:
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, HR Technology, or a related field.
Business Experience / Training:
- 13+ years of professional experience with 10+ years in program management roles driving HCM transformation and enterprise technology modernization.
- Proven track record in managing large-scale technology programs and leading cross-functional engineering teams.
- Proven experience managing enterprise-level HCM transformation programs with Workday,WFN, HR Portal, Oracle HCM, HR Automations and so on.
- Strong background in HCM with a deep understanding of end to end HR processes.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong project management capabilities with a focus on delivery, quality, and change enablement.
- Experience driving digital transformation and business process optimization in large matrixed organizations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven experience in managing diverse vendors for successful program delivery.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- PMP or other relevant project management certification is preferred.
- Knowledge of McKesson's business processes and systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to influence and drive change across the organization.

- Program Management: Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale, complex programs involving multiple initiatives. Experience with program planning, project planning, budgeting, and risk management.
- Vendor Management: The ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, oversee contract creation and management, monitor vendor performance, manage risks and costs, ensure compliance with regulations, and align vendor activities with the organization's strategic goals.
- Leadership and Collaboration: Excellent leadership skills to guide cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, and business units. Ability to influence and drive change across the organization.
- Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively convey project status, progress, and outcomes to stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate project risks and ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Healthcare IT Knowledge: Experience with healthcare IT and clinical applications is preferred.
- Compliance and Governance: Ensure compliance with McKesson's cloud security standards, governance framework and Healthcare compliance regulations.
- Financial Acumen: Strong financial acumen, including experience in program budget management and financial analysis.
- Adaptability: The ability to quickly adapt and adjust to change.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.
