The Patient Assistance Service Manager oversees and leads a group of +10 Patient Assistance Program (PAP) Representatives. The Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing the complete day to day operations and revenue goals of the PAP program across multiple health systems.
The Manager assumes ownership of a group of customers, work processes, and PAP recovery management to maximize savings that meet and/or exceed monthly revenue goals. Provides effective leadership and counsel to customers to fully execute the terms of the McKesson RxO contract and maintain positive relationships with their customers while ensuring satisfaction of services. Handles escalated customer problems. Works to identify opportunities for service expansion and collaborates with other departments to execute the strategy and implementation of expanded offerings including Customer Success, Implementation, and Data teams. Collaborates with and communicates program savings, updates, and challenges to leadership and executes judgement in the escalation of any operational issues.
Key Responsibilities
- The Manager is responsible for the recruitment and development of their PAP team.
- Ensures appropriate staffing to support PAP operations across customers.
- Works collaboratively with the Sr PAP Reps to support a successful onboarding and training experience for all new employees.
- Oversees the daily operations of the team and works with the Sr Reps to ensure compliance with workflows, PAP guidelines, meeting of revenue and business goals, and performance analysis.
- Provides ongoing development support, coaching, and implementation of reward/recognition programs.
- Works in a fast paced, high-volume environment managing complex reimbursement and PAP issues and processes and provides backup PAP support when needed.
- Regularly communicates with McKesson RxO Leadership about program successes, challenges and provides consultative and innovative solutions. They must be able to troubleshoot specialized PAP technology.
Minimum Requirement
Degree or equivalent experience. Typically requires 6+ years of professional experience and 0-2 years of supervisory experience.
Critical Skills
- Must be proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task a variety of work activities.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills in order to communicate in a professional manner and build long-term customer relationships.
- Strong knowledge of PAP product reimbursement and payer structures as well as other external foundations or funding programs for reimbursements.
- Must have the ability to discern problems and determine appropriate course of action.
Travel
Travel may be required for onsite support or internal and external meetings.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.
