Current Need: McKesson Medical-Surgical is seeking a Senior Associate Financial Analyst to join our McKesson Brands team in Richmond, VA.

Job Overview: The Associate Financial Analyst will play a crucial role in maximizing the profitability of the McKesson Brands business while supporting new business acquisition through competitive pricing strategies. This position requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent financial modeling skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to drive financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Support and Decision-Making:

  • Provide financial support and guidance to business units in evaluating new business opportunities and projects.
  • Assist in the preparation of business cases, financial models, and ROI analyses for proposed initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive data-driven decision-making and support strategic planning.

Financial Analysis and Reporting:

  • Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for profitability improvement.
  • Prepare and present financial reports, dashboards, and metrics to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor and analyze key financial indicators to ensure alignment with business objectives.

Pricing Strategy and Competitive Analysis:

  • Develop and implement competitive pricing strategies to support new business acquisition and retain existing customers.
  • Evaluate pricing proposals and provide recommendations to optimize profitability while remaining competitive.

Profitability Maximization:

  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and operations teams to develop strategies that maximize profitability.
  • Develop financial models to assess the impact of pricing changes and business initiatives on overall profitability.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Monitor actual performance against budget and forecast, providing insights and recommendations for corrective actions.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Typically requires 2+ years of relevant experience.

Critical Skills:

  • Ability to interpret and transform financial data into actionable recommendations.
  • Ability to balance the need to maximize profitability while growing new business through competitive pricing.
  • Advanced proficiency within Microsoft Excel.

Additional Skills:

  • Experience using SQL and/or other analytical statistical tools.
  • Experience analyzing mass data (10k lines or more).
  • Experience with financial modeling.
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM.
  • The ability to work in a collaborative environment with passionate stakeholders is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and strong business acumen are required.

Education:

  • 4-year degree with emphasis in finance, economics, or statistics required or equivalent experience.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. $28.85 - $48.08
