Job Summary

This pivotal role is responsible for overseeing accounting practices, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, and driving process improvements across our six business units. The successful candidate will posses a strategic mindset, critical thinking, and the ability to lead change, fostering a culture of excellence within the team.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies.
  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard the company's assets and ensure compliance with corporate policies.
  • Proactively identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in financial operations across all business units.
  • Leverage technology and best practices to modernize accounting processes and increase automation.
  • Provide visionary leadership to the accounting team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with the VP Finance to develop and implement strategic financial initiatives that align with the company's goals.
  • Mentor and develop the accounting team, promoting professional growth and succession planning.
  • Foster an inclusive and collaborative environment that encourages diverse perspectives and innovative solutions.

  • Plan and assign responsibilities within the team, effectively delegating tasks, allocating resources, and assessing performance to identify areas for improvement.

  • Attract, develop, and retain top talent, cultivating a high-performing team. Invest in the professional development of individuals, building their capabilities and providing opportunities for growth.
  • Forge strong relationships and establish effective communication channels with key stakeholders across the organization. Collaborate closely with internal teams to drive collaboration, alignment, and achieve shared objectives.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 13 years of work experience, with at least 7 years in a similar role.
  • A CPA designation is required.  Accounting / Audit firm experience is preferred (Chartered Accountant).
  • Bachelor of Commerce with a major in finance or accounting is required.
  • Must possess a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification, demonstrating expertise in process improvement and operational efficiency.

Key Competencies

  • Advanced knowledge of SAP Business Planning Consolidation (BPC).
  • Track record of driving multiple deliverables at the same time with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Expertise in variance analysis and financial modeling.
  • Strategic, innovative, proactive thinker who can influence and guide other leaders.
  • Ability to solve problems and make good decisions in a timely manner.
  • Engaging people leader with ability to coach and build high performance team.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$150,800 - $251,300
