Job Summary

The Senior Marketing Manager, Own Brands, is responsible for leading the strategic development, positioning, and execution of McKesson Canada’s private label brands. This role serves as the brand steward, driving growth through data-driven strategies, integrated marketing plans, and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in brand management, retail marketing, and agency leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement brand strategies, positioning, and annual marketing plans.
  • Drive consumer acquisition, retention, and brand penetration to grow market share and average health basket.
  • Oversee packaging workflow and ensure brand consistency across all materials.
  • Lead customer communications related to brand programs and initiatives.
  • Deliver presentations and updates to internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain brand narratives and visual identity guidelines.
  • Manage the annual marketing budget for Own Brands.
  • Design and execute national advertising campaigns and in-store promotions.
  • Integrate Own Brands into local marketing programs for banner members.
  • Support event branding and marketing initiatives.
  • Manage digital brand assets across banners.
  • Collaborate on category management and store operations initiatives.
  • Partner with banner brand teams to align on campaign integration.
  • Monitor competitor activity and benchmark against industry best practices.
  • Measure and report on campaign performance and marketing effectiveness.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • 5–8 years of relevant experience; retail or pharmacy sector experience is an asset.
  • Proven success in managing private label or control brand marketing programs.
  • Strong understanding of the competitive landscape in community pharmacy.
  • Experience managing agency relationships and cross-functional teams.
  • Bilingual in French and English (written and spoken).

  • Concevoir et exécuter des campagnes publicitaires nationales et des promotions en magasin.
  • Intégrer les marques privées dans les programmes marketing locaux des membres bannières.
  • Soutenir le marketing et l’image de marque des événements.
  • Gérer les actifs numériques des marques à travers les bannières.
  • Collaborer aux initiatives de gestion de catégories et aux priorités opérationnelles en magasin.
  • Travailler avec les équipes de marque des bannières pour assurer l’intégration des campagnes.
  • Surveiller les activités des concurrents et établir des comparaisons avec les meilleures pratiques du secteur.
  • Mesurer et rendre compte de la performance des campagnes et de l’efficacité marketing.

Qualifications

  • Baccalauréat en marketing, en administration des affaires ou dans un domaine connexe.
  • 5 à 8 ans d’expérience pertinente; une expérience dans le secteur du commerce de détail ou de la pharmacie est un atout.
  • Succès démontré dans la gestion de programmes marketing de marques privées ou contrôlées.
  • Bonne compréhension du paysage concurrentiel dans le domaine de la pharmacie communautaire.
  • Expérience dans la gestion de relations avec des agences et des équipes interfonctionnelles.
  • Bilinguisme français/anglais (oral et écrit).

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$98,700 - $164,400
