Note - this is a hybrid role requiring the incumbent to be located in the Dallas, TX area.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Contract Specialist to join our dynamic Enterprise IT Vendor Management team. The IT Contract Specialist will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of contract administration within McKesson Technology. This role involves ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, optimizing vendor performance, and driving value through effective contract management. The IT Contract Specialist will work closely with various stakeholders, including Finance, General Counsel Office (GCO), Compliance, Business Unit leaders, and IT Service Areas, to develop and implement standards, processes, and playbooks for managing supplier performance and value delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contract Administration: Oversee the entire contract lifecycle, including drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and finalizing contracts with vendors. Ensure all contracts comply with company policies and legal requirements.

  • Dispute and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions and manage any changes or amendments. Conduct thorough research and analysis to identify potential issues or disputes related to contracts. Review and analyze complex contracts for potential risks and liabilities.

  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with legal, finance, BU leaders, IT Service Area Managers and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment and compliance. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and define requirements to ensure business strategies and goals are clear and support organizational objectives. Strong relationship skills are critical, to define scope, identify specific contractual requirements and develop and manage a solid plan.

  • Reporting and Analytics: Develop and implement reporting mechanisms to track and measure supplier performance, contract compliance, and value delivery. Support reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) and contract status.

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance contract management efficiency and effectiveness. Review and assess current documentation and processes and implement improvements and/or automation to reduce manual effort. Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the VMO.

Minimum Requirements

Typically requires 4+ years of professional experience.

Critical Skills:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in IT contract management or a related field.

  • Supplier performance management – experience holding the supplier accountable ensuring compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and contractual obligations. 

  • Project Management - Experience in project management, including coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure that contracts are executed on time, within budget, and in accordance with project goals.

  • Technical proficiency: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in MS Office Suite applications, experience using contract management software solutions preferred.

Additional Skills:

  • Communication skills - Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders. Provide training and guidance on contract management.

  • Interpersonal skills: Ability to work independently, take full accountability, be self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision. Strong attention to detail with enhanced organizational skills. Is comfortable working under pressure with changing priorities and tight deadlines.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in business, law, or a related field or equivalent experience

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$75,600 - $126,000
