Position Description
McKesson currently has an opening for a Compliance Advisory Sr. Manager. This role will report to the Director of Compliance & Ethics Advisory. The Sr. Manager will act as a subject matter expert on operationalizing requirements and assessing the strength of the company's compliance program through various assessment and monitoring techniques.
The Sr. Manager will be tasked with conducting reviews on McKesson's controls and compliance program in multiple areas of strategic focus including advising on policies, procedures, processes, training, communications, and controls. In addition, this role will need a strong ability to prioritize, maintain appropriate safeguards, and clearly communicate complex topics while bringing quality work product outputs.
The ideal candidate will have meaningful experience in healthcare compliance, compliance risk oversight processes, and in establishing robust compliance programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead compliance “deep-dive” reviews, advisory and monitoring activities based upon a comprehensive understanding of the company’s risk profile and compliance control framework, with particular focus on healthcare regulatory requirements.
- Plan, execute, and effectively collaborate on integrated advisory and monitoring reviews and process assessments with other functions, such as Legal, Internal Audit, Quality, Sourcing and Procurement, Master Data Management, etc.
- Advise various McKesson business units on approaches for operationalizing requirements including, but not limited to controls, policies, training, advisory and monitoring.
- Develop formal written reports to communicate advisory and monitoring findings to management, assess root cause(s), and make recommendations on corrective and preventative actions as appropriate.
- Assess and design preventative, detective, and corrective compliance controls.
- Facilitate obtaining corrective action plans for issues noted as needed.
- Ensure that advisory and monitoring findings, associated root causes, and corrective action plans are understood, well-defined, documented/tracked, and presented to Compliance leadership and business unit management.
- Lead post engagement issue follow up and resolution.
- Assist Compliance colleagues in implementing new controls that enhance the company’s compliance program.
- Assist in the preparation of and provide subject matter expertise to risk assessments/advisory and monitoring plans.
- Support other department initiatives and deliverables as needed.
- Exercise professional judgment and propose value-added solutions in all aspects of engagement execution
Minimum Requirements
- 7+ years of relevant healthcare compliance, healthcare consulting, and/or healthcare audit work experience.
- Subject matter expertise in one or more of the following areas: Fraud & Abuse, Anti-Corruption, Government Contracting, Billing & Coding, Controlled Substances Monitoring, Pharmacy Compliance, Healthcare Privacy, Government Price Reporting, Transparency Reporting, Research Compliance, Improper Inducements, Marketing & Selling Ethically, Quality/Regulatory, Third-Party Risk Management and Responsible Sourcing.
Critical Skills
- Preference for exposure to various aspects of healthcare compliance with a government agency, law/consulting firm, or Fortune 500 company.
- Experience with operationalizing controls, policies, procedures, training, consulting, advisory and monitoring in the healthcare compliance space.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare industry standards and best practices for effective compliance programs.
- Excellent data analysis and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Strong presentation and consultative skills.
- Possess the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently, inclusive of project management/prioritization skillsets.
- Ability to build and foster strong relationships with business, compliance, and regulatory professionals throughout the organization.
- Professionally curious and a self-starter.
- Hands-on, with demonstrated leadership skills.
Additional Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of compliance program elements and healthcare regulatory obligations.
- Previous experience managing and driving execution of projects collaboratively in a highly matrixed environment.
- Consulting and advisory experience, preferably with an accounting, law firm, consulting firm, government agency, healthcare, or medical device/pharma company.
- Business process analysis skills.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills as well as problem-solving capabilities.
Education
- An outstanding record of academic achievement, including an undergraduate degree (required). An advanced degree is preferred.
- Relevant Compliance Certifications or Licensure Preferable

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.
