Current Need

We are searching for Sr. Director for Enterprise Applications Architecture and PMO Office Leader to join our team!

Position Description

The Sr. Director Principal Architect and PMO Office Leader will play a pivotal role in shaping the architectural standards, policies, and cross-functional design decisions while establishing Program Management Office for the Enterprise Applications Shared Services Organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT architecture and management of PMO office, with a proven track record of leading large-scale digital transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture Office Leader Responsibilities:

  • Represent Enterprise Applications organization in Enterprise Architecture Council
  • Develop and enforce architecture standards and policies across the Enterprise Applications organization.
  • Lead cross-functional design decisions to ensure cohesive and scalable solutions across service categories within Enterprise Application Service area.
  • Collaborate with various services/solutions to align architectural strategies with business goals.
  • Provide strategic direction for system integration and technology requirements.
  • Ensure the architecture supports platform compatibility and maximizes efficiency.
  • Implement model-based enterprise architecture frameworks to streamline development and delivery efforts.
  • Oversee cross-functional architecture across Supply Chain, Finance, CRM, and HR technology solutions.
  • Lead end-to-end business process design to ensure seamless integration and efficiency across all systems.
  • Manage cross-functional integration between enterprise platforms such as SAP, PeopleSoft, Workday, ServiceNow, Salesforce, and Contract Lifecycle Management systems.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on C-level steering and advisory boards, aligning customer objectives with business outcomes through specified metrics and KPIs.

Program Management Office Leader Responsibilities:

  • Portfolio Administration – Define portfolio intake and lifecycle framework to oversee project and program selection based on ROI, strategic alignment, and resource availability. Implement tools and KPIs to monitor project status and performance, ensuring delivery within scope, time, and budget. Establish and monitor portfolio metrics to ensure the team delivers value to the organization and customers.
  • Alignment – Ensure the projects and programs align with the organization’s strategic goals and objectives. Implement dashboards and reporting to provide all stakeholders insights on project health and overall PMO effectiveness. Ensure all projects follow processes that align with the lifecycle framework.
  • PMO Governance– Develop and manage cross-functional portfolio roadmaps such as automation (AI), cloud adoption, transformation, and upgrades in line with business strategy, user needs, and market trends. Define and manage governance processes to ensure accountability and transparency in decision-making.
  • Leadership – Manage direct and indirect teams of Product Managers and Project Managers.  Coach, mentor, and develop team members to reach their full potential and deliver high-quality outcomes. Encourage a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Change Management - Lead on communicating changes, training, updates, and gathering feedback on anything related to Portfolio Management. Implement best practices in change management to ensure successful implementation and sustainability of digital initiatives.
  • Conflict Resolution - Work closely with other business and Enterprise teams to facilitate effective decision-making and execution across the portfolio, balancing risks, costs, and benefits. Be an active member of the Community of Practice, engaging, providing feedback, taking away and implementing actions as needed.

Minimum Requirements

Typically requires 13+ years of IT architecture and PMO experience and 6+ years of leadership, planning, communication, organization, and people motivation skills (or equivalent experience)

Critical Skills

  • 13+ years of Business/IT Architecture experience to deliver digital transformation across large enterprise solutions/customers
  • 7+ years of project and/or portfolio management experience in a large organization
  • 7+ years of experience delivering scalable data infrastructure and platform to migrate legacy data using ETL framework.
  • 5+ years of experience in implementing advanced intelligence analytics across various business domains.
  • 5+ years of experience in implementing the SaaS solutions.
  • 5+ years of experience designing and implementing integration frameworks to connect enterprise systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in portfolio management, strategy formulation, and execution
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to navigate complex organizational structures
  • Excellent presentation and strong communication skills
  • Experience working in an agile & virtual team environment
  • Experience delivering technical solutions for internal and external customers
  • Experience with SAFe Agile, Lean Six Sigma (or local equivalent) principles
  • Professional training and certification related to enterprise architecture, such as TOGAF.

Education

  • Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent experience

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

Traditional office environment.

Travel (Team meetings, conferences, site visits, etc) – Up to 30%

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$177,600 - $296,000
