Current Need:

The Data Architect is tasked with the strategic design and implementation of advanced data architecture solutions that align with organizational objectives. This role emphasizes the transformation of data into a sophisticated environment conducive to visualization and involves collaborating with data teams to enhance analytical capabilities, supporting drug margin analysis and business intelligence.

Ideal candidate will reside within a commutable distance to Irving, TX or The Woodlands, TX.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Environment Development: Design and implement a data architecture that transforms existing data and data sources into a functional environment for data visualization tools, enhancing the organization's analytics capabilities.

  • Data Visualization Development: Develop and maintain dynamic data visualizations using web-based tools such as Power BI or Tableau. Ensure these visualizations meet the analytical needs of diverse user groups, including finance, payer, revenue cycle, and pharmacy teams, to drive informed decision-making across the organization.

  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with other data teams and internal stakeholders/business support groups to ensure comprehensive data capture for analysis, enabling the provision of actionable business insights.

  • Data Integrity and Strategic Evaluation: Ensure data integrity through rigorous pipeline monitoring and conduct regular evaluations of data strategies to provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement to senior leadership.

Minimum Requirement:

  • Degree or equivalent and typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience in data architecture, data visualization, and/or product management.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, another STEM field, or equivalent experience.

Critical Skills:

  • Life Science, Pharmaceutical or Healthcare industry experience preferred

  • Expert in best practices in the areas of database design, systems architecture, data mining & analytics, data visualization (preferably Power BI or Tableau), cloud computing, data storage & security, and all variants of SQL programming

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Creative problem-solving and critical thinking

  • Strong business acumen

  • Ability to work within and contribute to a diverse & high-performing workforce

Working Conditions:

  • Heavy Remote/Home Office with some in-office collaboration

  • Travel up to 10%

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$130,400 - $217,300
