The Business Optimization Manager will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with key clients, ensuring their needs are met, and driving business growth. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying opportunities, addressing client challenges, and delivering tailored solutions that align with the client’s strategic objectives. In addition, the Business Optimization Manager is responsible for contract management and contract renewals.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management:
Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key accounts.
Serve as the primary point of contact for client inquiries and issues.
Conduct regular meetings and business reviews with clients to ensure satisfaction and identify areas for improvement.
Strategic Planning and Execution:
Understand the client’s business goals and objectives to develop strategic account plans.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver customized solutions that meet client needs.
Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities.
Sales and Revenue Growth:
Identify and pursue upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts.
Drive the entire sales cycle from prospecting to closing deals.
Achieve or exceed sales targets and contribute to the company’s growth objectives.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with internal teams, including sales, revenue cycle, finance, marketing, product development, and customer service, to ensure client satisfaction.
Communicate client feedback and insights to internal teams to drive continuous improvement.
Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare and present regular reports on account status, forecasts, and growth strategies.
Analyze account performance and provide recommendations for improvement.
Minimum Requirement
Degree or equivalent and typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
Critical Skills
5+ years of experience in healthcare account management, sales, or practice management or similar role with a background in oncology.
Strong knowledge of buy-and-bill processes and specialty pharmacy markets.
Strong understanding of revenue cycle, accounting P&L, and customer service practices.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze data and drive informed decisions.
Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently.
Additional Knowledge & Skills:
Adaptive, solution-based sales approach with the ability to influence and drive customer behavior toward objectives.
Strong, persuasive communication and consultative selling skills, effectively presenting McKesson's value proposition.
Proven ability to collaborate with diverse teams and customers; professional, flexible, and tactful in all interactions.
Thrives in dynamic environments, navigating organizational complexity and change with confidence.
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving, reasoning, and sound judgment abilities.
Proficient in MS Office applications with a solid understanding of technology and customer ordering systems.
Working Conditions:
Field based position
Home office with territory travel up to 50%

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Total Target Cash (TTC) Pay Range for this position:
$158,400 - $264,000Total Target Cash (TTC) is defined as base pay plus target incentive.
