The MDM Governance Policy Lead is responsible for establishing and maintaining a robust governance framework for master data policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs). This role will drive the development, documentation, and lifecycle management of MDM policies, ensuring alignment with enterprise data standards and regulatory requirements. The individual will work closely with the MDM operations team and business stakeholders to promote adherence and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Policy Inventory & Gap Assessment:
Maintain a comprehensive inventory of existing MDM policies and SOPs. Conduct gap analyses to identify missing or outdated documentation.
2. Policy Development & Documentation:
Author, review, and update MDM policies and SOPs in collaboration with data stewards, business owners, and compliance teams.
3. Governance Lifecycle Management:
Establish and manage the lifecycle of governance documents, including version control, periodic reviews, and approvals.
4. Compliance & Adherence Monitoring:
Define mechanisms to monitor adherence to MDM policies and support audit readiness. Partner with MDM teams, IT, compliance, and business units to ensure policies are practical, adopted, and enforced.
5. Training & Communication:
Develop training materials and communication plans to promote awareness and understanding of MDM governance standards.
Minimum Job Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities):
- Degree or equivalent and typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience.
Nice to have:
- Strong understanding of MDM principles, data quality, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent writing and documentation skills.
- Experience with policy lifecycle tools or document management systems is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, senior leadership, and BU partners.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.
