Position Summary: This role is part of the McKesson Commercial Strategy & Innovation (CSI) Operations and VMO team.  The Business Development Contract Manager will independently manage business partners, conduct contract negotiations, own process improvements, and provide monthly analysis of the vendor partner network financials by vendor and product/service, and support third party risk management activities as needed and required.

Key Responsibilities:

Vendor Contract Negotiations, Management, and Compliance

  • Independently own vendor partner contract negotiations, partner and contract life cycle management, and partner compliance.
  • Own and manage the vendor contracting for designated vendor partners, including negotiating new and existing partnership agreements prior to agreements expiry, and initiate renewals and/or terminations as needed.
  • Lead the drafting of agreements, conducting legal reviews, and soliciting and adding business terms to agreements that align with McKesson compliance and legal standards and policies.
  • Support and/or own third-party risk management for partners to complete initial assessment submissions and assist teams in closing identified gaps with partners.
  • Evaluate vendor performance trends in order to rate and rationalize portfolio.
  • Conduct and/or support Quarterly Business Review Meetings with partners.
  • Manage new projects initiatives related to Vendor Contract Management.
  • Proven track record of improving contact processes, SOPs, and experience automating contracting processes.
  • Support and update VMO SharePoint, Pipeline Tracker, and various databases/tools as needed. Proficient with Salesforce, Smartsheets, Excel.

Business Development Support and Drive Revenue

  • Coordinate with the Director and other functions within the organization in matters related drafting, redlining executing new innovation partner agreements, and ensure legal & compliance reviews are completed.
  • Manage the process of evaluating new vendors by partnering with Product Management, Business Development, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Manage and support business development efforts, including vendor negotiations and support analysis of business cases.

Project Management, Commercialization, Issue Escalation/Resolutions

  • Ensure timely execution of vendor agreements by coordinating and consolidating internal/external stakeholders business requirements.
  • Support and work with cross functional teams to ensure partner’s commercialization requirements are completed prior to solutions Go-Live.
  • Own partner issue escalations and support internal and external stakeholders to attain quick issue resolutions with the partner.
  • Support increasing partner utilization with customers and life cycle management of the partner relationship.

Other Responsibilities

  • Work with Corp Sourcing & Procurement teams to conduct procurement activities, such as creating, managing, evaluating, and awarding RFQ’s.
  • Work with Corp Third Party Security and Risk Management teams to ensure partner compliance, including collecting partner audits, PCI, and security documentation as required.
  • Support supplier/vendor third-party risk management reviews and risk assessments.
  • Provide input into vendor scorecard ratings, educate business on new partner innovation, and life cycle management of partnerships.
  • Ongoing evaluation and updates of VMO processes and contract templates.
  • Support Six Sigma VMO projects and process improvements as needed.

Minimum Requirement

Degree or equivalent and typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience.

Business Experience:

  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience in contract negotiations, contract management, vendor relations management, business development, strategy, sourcing/procurement, consulting, or similar role, preferably in the healthcare sector.
  • Knowledge of retail pharmacy, health systems, or overall healthcare industry business is preferred.
  • Experience with pharmacy, PHI, healthcare data sets strongly preferred.

Specialized Knowledge/Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to collaborate with various levels of management and employees.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Attention to detail, strong data analytic skills, able to synthesize/summarize data.
  • Experience managing complex or multiple complex projects, on time, on budget, and to specifications.
  • Experience working with senior management.
  • Ability to identify operational, strategic issues, and proactively drive solutions.
  • Demonstrated leadership and influencing skills.
  • Excellent partnering skills and team player.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with all levels of management.
  • Ability to multi-task, working proactively and independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Customer service orientation with both internal and external customers.
  • Owning and maintaining VMO SharePoint and VMO Request Process (i.e., Contract Repository, Intake Request Form Tracking, NDAs, Risk Assessments, VMO Pipeline Reporting, etc.).

Required Skills:

  • High proficiency with Excel, Smartsheets, Saleforce, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint
  • Solid analytic skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly self-motivated, resilient, and able to work independently.
  • Strong work ethic and team player.

Working Conditions:

  • Environment: Office, use of computer, teleconference-based meetings, travel (up to 25%).
  • Physical Requirements: Minimal, large percent of time performing computer-based work is required.

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$73,400 - $122,400
