This CHW role is a hybrid between a McKesson distribution center (DC) and the community. The role will involve CHW functions such as A Community Health Worker (CHW) is a liaison and provides cultural mediation between the health care system, social services, and the community. A CHW is a trusted member, and has a close understanding of, the ethnicity, language, socio-economic status, and life experiences of the community served. A CHW assists people to gain access to needed services and builds individual, community and system capacity by increasing health knowledge and self-sufficiency through a range of activities such as outreach, navigation and follow-up, community health education and information, social support, advocacy, and encouragement in participation of clinical screenings to support BOTH McKesson employees and to build McKesson's presence with community agencies and partners in the local area. The candidate should be willing to travel locally and be flexible with their hours in order to accommodate different distribution center shifts. The CHW will meet with employees to assess and address non-clinical resource and healthcare needs as well as hold educational sessions, organize volunteer events. In the community, the CHW will meet with local organizations to build McKesson's presence as well as new programs that can support the community.
Minimum Job Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities):
Education/Training – High school Diploma. Successful completion of an approved CHW training program and related certification preferred.
Business Experience:
2+ years of relevant experience as a Community Health Worker
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, and PowerPoint) required
Must have exceptional communication skills
MUST be able to speak to Providers and Other Healthcare Professionals
Specialized Knowledge/Skills:
Experience with community-based outreach
Experience in health education and/or addressing health literacy
Extensive oral presentation skills
Successful completion of an approved CHW training program and related certification preferable
Working Conditions:
Environment (Office, warehouse, etc.) –
Traditional office environment within distribution centers located in Georgia & Alabama.
Physical Requirements (Lifting, standing, etc.):
Based out of the distribution center, performs computer-based work, in-person work is required, travel will be ~75% of duties. Must be willing to travel to Suwannee, Ellabell, and Duluth, Georgia + McCalla, Alabama and surrounding areas.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.
