Night Shift Sunday- Thursday 8:00 pm- 5:30 am.

This career opportunity is full-time/permanent and provides a competitive compensation, paid vacation, group insurance from day of hire, and an annual management incentive program (bonus).

Job Summary

The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for supporting all processing/packaging technologies.  Reporting to the Facilities Manager, this individual will be responsible for maintaining safety, quality, efficiency, equipment reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.

Section A – Specific Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial equipment installations.

  • Maintain complete equipment records and documentation related to tests, maintenance, modifications and repairs

  • Responsible for following test, maintenance and installation procedures established as acceptable for the equipment under the care of this maintenance department. Develop and recommend improvements, design changes or modifications to mechanical systems, equipment or procedures.

  • Routinely test electrical and mechanical systems, electronic equipment and components to ensure they are working properly and safely.

  • Assemble, install, maintain and repair all electrical, electromechanical equipment and components as per manufacture installation procedures.

  • Perform routine daily, weekly and monthly preventative maintenance programs of all low voltage electrical and mechanical operating systems, rotating equipment to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair to avoid failure of equipment.

  • Diagnose and repair malfunctioning low voltage electrical and mechanical operating systems, equipment and components by using manuals, schematic diagrams and electronic test equipment to locate and repair faults.

  • Provide technical support to all employees on the shift.

Section B – General Responsibilities

  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager.

  • Assist in inventory audits of spare parts to ensure availability of replacement parts and equipment.

  • Advise Facilities Manager of hazards, defects or unsafe conditions on or off the equipment

  • Record equipment deterioration to determine whether to continued operations of rotating equipment could be hazardous.

  • Evaluate low voltage electrical and mechanical equipment as well as operational problems.

  • Schedule and co-ordinate maintenance and repairs with other departments whom may be affected by these activities.

  • Assist in maintaining clean, orderly and hazard free work areas.

  • Always keep work area safe, organized and clean.

  • Follow company Health and Safety policies.

  • Able to work without close or direct supervision. 

Section C – Position Requirements

  • Experience in a similar role, working as a team with other electricians and industrial mechanics

  • Electrician license is required

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, operating manuals and maintenance instructions.

  • Proficient on industrial machinery, mechanical equipment and components, including pneumatic and hydraulic systems, compressors, conveyor and material handling systems

  • Proficient computer skills and experience with various software

  • Demonstrated ability in trouble shooting and isolating faults in electrical low voltage control and mechanical systems

  • Ability to create mechanical solutions to optimize production

  • Knowledgeable in repairing and performing routine maintenance on production equipment.

  • Able to prioritize workload and effectively meet deadlines.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to multitask and work in an organized fashion with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Willingness to respond to call-ins or overtime when required.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$71,400 - $119,000
