Summary:

  • Provides leadership, coaching, and development needs for the Medically Integrated Dispensing (MID) Pharmacy Optimization team. 
  • Ensures the MID Optimization team develops and maintains subject matter expertise in the MID business model, regulatory needs, technology, and business growth. 
  • Collaborates with peers in Advisory Services and Provider Solutions teams to ensure scope of service, roles, and delivery of service is consistent.  Supports development and roll-out of new products and customer adoption strategies. 
  • Oversees successful implementation of MID related programs.  Assists with development and delivery of the long-term MID strategy. 
  • Facilitates implementation of pharmacy/dispensary infrastructure, workflow, technology, and operations standards for new customers. 
  • Educates practices; shares information with practices to build their understanding of issues and capabilities.  Is regarded by the practice as the thought leader in this industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops and support the roll out of new products and customer adoptions strategies
  • Oversees successful implementation of MID related programs
  • Provide practice education.  Shares information with practices to build their understanding of industry trends and changes as well as the capabilities McKesson has to support the practice.
  • Provide coaching and development of team members to provide the same level of MID Optimization capabilities across all territories
  • Represent Provider Solutions practices and their unique needs in broader MID strategic discussions
  • Represent Provider Solutions practices and their needs in GPO contracting strategies
  • Other duties as needed
  • Cultivates and maintains a diverse and inclusive culture, encouraging healthy debate from multiple perspectives
  • Collaborate and grow strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders including VP MID, Sales VPs, Compliance, Legal and Finance teams
  • Build and train high performing teams while role modeling I2CARE and ILEAD behaviors.
  • Work well in a high-pressure environment, ensuring that work is completed in an accurate and timely fashion

Minimum Requirement

  • Degree or equivalent experience. Typically requires 12+ years of professional experience and 4+ years of management experience.

Education

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Pharmacy
  • Active Pharmacist License required

Critical Skills

  • Proven experience (at least 3 years) in management of pharmacy (oncology or multispecialty pharmacy experience preferred).
  • 4+ years leadership experience
  • Business development experience with community oncology practices preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of community specialty practices
  • Knowledge of payer, regulatory, compliance and licensure issues at the federal and state level relative to community oncology pharmacy
  • Proven experience managing many diverse projects and programs related to oncology pharmacy services that have demonstrated positive results on patient outcomes
  • Success in managing ongoing relationships, including primarily by remote communications and technology (phone, email, web conference, Office 365)

Additional Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve; to successfully look at system improvements in the clinical and
  • business areas and interact with stakeholders.
  • Ability to structure useful guidance around complex strategy decisions to influence and guide the decisions made by others.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Word.
  • Experience working in matrix environment is necessary for the person to succeed.
  • Strong orientation and commitment to external and internal customer service.
  • Ability to work in a self-directed environment.
  • Ability to form and articulate persuasive arguments based on analysis.
  • Proven ability to partner and work across boundaries to achieve results.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize /follow-up.
  • Excellent ability to manage in a fast-paced growing environment.
  • Proven experience to support growth of Specialty and Retail Services.
  • Project management, problem solving skills are required and must be demonstrated through experience.
  • Proven fiscal management skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Remote
  • Travel up to 30% to client sites, business partners and internal meetings

Physical Requirements (Lifting, standing, etc.) –

  • Large percent of time performing computer-based work is required

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$137,900 - $229,800
