Title: Legal Specialist - Community Pharmacy and Healthcare
Location: Atlanta, Georgia or Dallas, Texas
Current Need
McKesson’s well-regarded Legal Department is seeking a Legal Specialist to support Community Pharmacy and Healthcare Solutions, a business unit within the Pharmaceutical Solutions and Services (“PSaS”) segment. This position offers the opportunity to work hand-in-hand with business and legal colleagues on the development, contracting and marketing of products and services for independent and small community pharmacies. The successful candidate will have strong contract drafting and negotiation skills, an ability to manage multiple projects across different stakeholders simultaneously, a desire to partner with a wide variety of business and legal colleagues, and a willingness to learn the complexities of the clinical, operational and reimbursement aspects of retail pharmacy. This role will provide exposure to a multitude of healthcare regulatory, antitrust, corporate governance, franchise law and consumer protection issues; past experience in these areas is not required, but an interest in learning is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support for pharmacy services administrative organization (Health Mart Atlas), including:
- Membership and service contracting with pharmacies, including hospital-affiliated and physician-owned pharmacies
- Assisting with payor/PBM agreement negotiations and renewals
- Provide support for retail pharmacy franchise operations (Health Mart), including:
- Franchise contracting for independent pharmacies
- Service agreement contracting with hospital-affiliated pharmacies
- Vendor contracting with partners offering clinical, administrative, or operational services through the Health Mart franchise
- Provide support for Community Pharmacy marketing activities, including social media, newsletters and promotional materials
- Effectively partner with business colleagues to understand commercial objectives and memorialize into agreements and supporting materials
- Work on and manage timing on multiple projects, with multiple stakeholders, concurrently
- Thrive in a fast-paced, energetic and highly innovative and forward-looking environment
- Coordinate and collaborate with Legal and Compliance colleagues
Critical Skills
- Excellent commercial contract drafting skills
- Superb interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to draft quality contracts expeditiously that help McKesson minimize risk and exposure and achieve overall customer satisfaction
- Thorough business acumen
- Ability to work with larger team in seeking efficiencies for legal support
- Aptitude to manage simultaneous projects in an efficient and timely manner
Education
- 2-year Associates degree and/or Paralegal Certificate with 5+ years related work experience, or
- 4-year degree (Preferred) with 3+ years related work experience, or
- JD (preferred not required) with 2+ years related work experience

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.
