Position Summary:
The Senior Cybersecurity Project Manager will be responsible for all the project management needs for assigned projects within the Cybersecurity portfolio. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in managing large-scale cybersecurity projects with a proven track record of delivering on time and within budget. This role requires exceptional leadership, collaboration, and risk mitigation skills, as well as the ability to manage cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment. McKesson is looking for a seasoned candidate to support existing projects as well as introduce new practices and processes based on latest trends and market demands. This role will require strong communication, organization, self-learning, and project management skills.
Starting Pay is between 100,100.00 to 166,900.00based on skills and qualifications for this role in the Alpharetta, GA area
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and Develop Cybersecurity Portfolio: 20 %
Oversee the strategic management of the cybersecurity portfolio, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and risk management strategies. Develop and implement portfolio management frameworks to optimize resource allocation and project prioritization.
Direct and Drive Program Delivery: 15 %
Spearhead the planning, execution, and monitoring of cybersecurity programs. Ensure that programs are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with the defined objectives and regulatory requirements.
Cultivate and Manage Resources: 15 %
Lead efforts to allocate resources effectively across cybersecurity projects and programs. Develop methods to balance resource constraints with project demands, ensuring optimal utilization.
Drive Risk Assessment and Mitigation: 10%
Cultivate a proactive approach to risk management by identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with cybersecurity projects. Ensure that risk management practices are integrated into program planning and execution.
Manage Project Communications and Engagement with Stakeholders: 10%
Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including cross-functional teams. Provide regular updates on program status, risks, and achievements to ensure alignment and support.
Lead Performance Evaluation: 10%
Develop and implement metrics and performance indicators to monitor the effectiveness of cybersecurity programs. Report on program performance, outcomes, and areas for improvement to the Cybersecurity Business Management Service Category Manager.
Drive Program Enhancement: 10%
Spearhead initiatives to continuously improve program management processes and methodologies. Encourage the adoption of best practices and innovative approaches to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of cybersecurity programs.
Develop and Lead: 10%
Lead and manage a team of service and delivery leads, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence aligned to McKesson’s ICARE and ILEAD values. Provide mentorship and guidance to team members to ensure professional development and growth.
Minimum Job Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities):
Education/Training –
A bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Business Management, or a related field is required. A master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, CISSP) in relevant disciplines are preferred.
Business Experience:
- 13+ years of professional experience and 6+ years of diversified leadership, planning, communication, organization, and people motivation skills (or equivalent experience).
- Effective leadership, training and presentation skills, and experience in leading multiple, highly-diverse teams to achieve results.
Specialized Knowledge/Skills –
- Proven experience in cybersecurity portfolio and program management.
- Strong knowledge of the NIST/NICE framework and its application in cybersecurity program management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects.
- Strategic thinking with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, capable of engaging with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Strong management skills in planning, organizing, leading, and measuring service-driven teams.
- Ability to exercise and mentor others on good professional judgment and security-related ethics
Physical Requirements (Lifting, standing, etc.) –
Large percentage of time performing computer-based work is required.
