We are currently looking for a Principal Architect to support the McKesson Medical Surgical (MMS) business unit at McKesson (Marketing & Procurement, Customer Service, Sales, Service Desk and Technical Contact Center Service process areas). This is a strategic/highly visible SME role that closely partners with the MMS business executives and process owners to support portfolio needs and enterprise level architecture design for the customer operations business process.

Role/Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the design of a competitive pricing solution and address application performance challenges.
  • Designs and develops IT architecture (integrated process, applications, data, and technology) solutions to business problems in alignment with the enterprise architecture direction and standards.
  • Designs major aspects of the architecture of Enterprise applications, including components such as user interface, middleware, and infrastructure integration points.
  • Applies cutting edge principles, theories, concepts, and technologies for Enterprise solutions.
  • Can work across solution teams to ensure proper system/data integration.
  • Performs technical planning, architecture development, and modification of specifications.
  • Partners with Scrum teams to ensure delivery aligns with architecture.
  • Works on unusually complex and sensitive problems and provides state of the art solutions.
  • Assesses the compatibility and integration of products/services proposed as standards to ensure an integrated architecture across interdependent technologies.

Minimum Requirements :

Degree or equivalent and typically requires 13+ years, with 8+ years, of direct work related experience. Less years required if has relevant Master's or Doctorate qualifications.

Critical Skills

  • Backend: Kubernetes/AKS, Hadoop/Hive/Sqoop, Spring Boot, Groovy, Swagger, Redis, Oracle, JUnit, XML/JSON, Kafka.
  • Fronted: React, Wordpress, ESI, Bootstrap, Javascript, HTML, CSS.
  • DevOps: ELK, Concourse, dynaTrace, SonarCube, Veracode, CredHub, Docker.
  • Cloud: AzureSQL, Cosmos, Azure API Mgmt, Google Cloud.
  • Salesforce CRM and other Salesforce products.
  • Proven expertise in managing multiple project lifecycle implementations and custom software best practices for global companies, while effectively fostering business partner and supplier relationships and adeptly handling multiple priorities in dynamic technical environments.
  • Prior experience working with pharmaceutical manufacturers, wholesale distributors, or purchasers.
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment – e.g. ability to assess a specific business scenario and develop an appropriate technical approach to support the desired business outcomes.
  • Project management experience and skills within an SDLC or Scrum/SAFe Agile framework.

  • Ability and interest in learning new technologies quickly.
  • Understanding of best practices in data architecture and management.
  • Business case development experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability, including team lead or management roles.
  • Excellent relationship management skills demonstrating mature confidence and integrity; Proven track record building and maintaining productive customer relationships.
  • Solid strategic thinking with results orientation.
  • Superior collaboration and communication (oral and written) skills, as well as excellent level influencing skills.
  • Demonstrated business process knowledge including experience in business process modeling, improvement and change impact analysis, e.g. Six Sigma or BPML.

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$170,300 - $283,800
