Project Specialist- Distribution Center
Location: Kent, WA, USA - 6520 South 228th St
Shift: Monday to Friday, 4am -12:30pm. Shift is subject to change based on needs of the business. OT is mandatory when required
Position is FT/permanent. Generous PTO. 401K. Health and dental benefits. An annual bonus plan.

Day to day you will be helping your team improve the overall process of the brand new distribution center and the individual team members.
This position will report into the Manager of Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Task Execution - Complete projects as assigned to provide requested deliverables by due dates. Provide updates on tasks through completion. Document project progress through various software tools such as: SharePoint, SmartSheets, OneNote, PowerPoint. Execute project to satisfaction of requester/process owner.
Rapid Improvement/Lean Projects- Identify sources of waste (TIMWOODS) and take action to reduce/eliminate (6S).
6S Principles: Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, Safety
TIMWOODS: Sources of Waste: T – Transport – Moving people, products & information. I – Inventory – Storing parts, pieces, documentation ahead. M – Motion – Bending, turning, reaching, lifting. W – Waiting – For parts, information, instructions, equipment. Over production – Making more than is IMMEDIATELY required. Over processing – Tighter tolerances or higher grade materials than are necessary. D – Defects – Rework, scrap, incorrect documentation. S – Skills – Underutilizing capabilities, delegating tasks with inadequate training
Process Review/Audit - Review a process to identify process gaps to compliance or efficiency (pain points). Report out findings/recommendations through a written report. (may require learning process prior)
Process Documentation - Create and/or revise DC documents for various processes, cross verify with process owners for accuracy & submit for approval. Documents may include but not limited to: SOPs, Training Checklists, Process learning exercises, DC signage
Trainer - Conduct team member training upon completion of a project. Back-up for DC Trainers.
Assist other areas - Assist other departments with their corresponding process functions when business needs require - heavy volume, first of month, special projects
Minimum Qualifications:
Typically requires 3+ years of related experience.
Additional Skills and Qualifications:
3 years of work experience, preferably in a warehouse / distribution center environment
Exposure to different departments in order to be able to assist when required- heavy volume, first of month, special projects
Excellent oral and written English communication
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other internal platforms such as SharePoint and Smartsheet
Experience utilizing Power Industrial Equipment as needed and ability to maintain appropriate certifications. (i.e., cherry picker, reach truck, dock stocker and a powered pallet jack.) - team is willing to train those with no experience
Ability to collaborate with corporate team
Project management experience preferred
Analytical, critical thinking, and basic math skills
Ability to observe and take notes
Excellent prioritization under pressure with the ability to complete competing projects and deadlines
Six Sigma an asset
Physical Demands (Some or all may apply):
Must be comfortable working at heights
May sit, stand, stoop, bend and walk intermittently during the day.
May sit or stand seven (7) to ten (10) hours per day.
May be necessary to work extended hours as needed.
Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required.
May need to lift up to 30 pounds on occasion.
May need to work in refrigerated areas
Visual acuity to see and read fine prints. Specific vision abilities required by this role include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Must be able to hear normal voice sounds.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.
