Job Summary: The Facilities Maintenance Technician provides support for facilities maintenance activities in accordance with policies, procedures and applicable regulatory requirements to ensure a safe working environment for employees and compliance with OSHA regulations.
Job Responsibilities:
• Performs general repairs such as painting, repairing doors/locks, repairing or replacing light fixtures, etc.
• Maintains equipment including but not limited to MHE, HVAC units, conveyor systems, electrical switches, controls, and components, refrigeration units, fire extinguishers, safety showers, eye washes, restrooms, and break rooms.
• Inspects equipment to determine if repair is needed; listens to operator complaints and inspects defective parts for damage; replaces damaged parts and makes adjustments according to manufacturer's instructions.
• Adjusts and cleans equipment to eliminate malfunctions; uses hand tools and powered industrial trucks to position equipment during repair.
• Prepares maintenance reports on equipment and building; maintains records of parts used and labor hours spent on equipment.
• Uses computer to access technical information and manuals related to equipment maintenance and operation.
• May provide assistance to other technicians and skilled maintenance personnel by performing tasks requiring less skill.
• Follows all safety rules and regulations.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid state-issued driver license (if applicable)
• Ability to operate powered industrial trucks
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and mechanical concepts
• Moderate physical effort required
• Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers
• Speaking and hearing ability to communicate with others
• Vision sufficient to read written documents
• Ability to use basic math skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Knowledge of and ability to follow safety practices and procedures
• Knowledge of personal protective equipment
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations
