Position Description

The Senior Demand Planning role is responsible for creating advanced forecast view of customer performance, the competitive landscape, industry trends and financial planning. This role supports launching and tracking our new product launches with retail and institutional markets of our wholesale business nationally.

The Senior Demand Planning Analyst meets with cross-functional team members to interpret sales analytics, reporting, results, and trends to transform it into meaningful forecast that enable the success of our internal and external customers. This role develops and manages the monthly volume forecast and will be driving key customer inputs for annual strategic plan development.

The role reports directly to the Vice President of Private Label Commercialization and has high exposure to key contacts across the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supported by the Product Management & Business Development team, this role leads the creation, tracking, and forecasting of new product launch sales volume for internal customer teams (Strategic Accounts, Injectables, Community Pharmacy, Institutions, MedSurg & Specialty).
  • Prepares and presents weekly sales performance insights and customer level analytics, monthly forecasts and budget analysis to leadership.
  • Analyzes sales trends and provides risks & opportunities by business segment.
  • Lead the commercial product strategy in monthly Sales Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP), reconciliation meetings and processes for new to market items.
  • Manage Key Performance Indicators with various stakeholders of the Commercial, Finance and Operations organizations to optimize inventory and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Influences and inspires change through the delivery of insights (trends, internal and external insights, business context) in a simple and compelling manner with internal customers.
  • Recommends creation and adoption of new tools for advanced analytics in line with the customer and business needs.
  • Aligns with the Product Managers and segment leads on their noted opportunities on both new business volumes and risks to base forecast

Critical Skills

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience as a business analyst in a financial planning, demand management, business intelligence, market analysis, strategy, consulting, data science or similar role.
  • Excellent communication skills and willingness to partner cross-functionally.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • High sense of urgency with ability to multi-task, work proactively and independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint, Word).

Additional Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong business acumen with preferred experience in SAP and SQL.
  • Self-driven with strong problem-solving abilities and a willingness to learn diverse products and business functions. 
  • Proven ability to lead initiatives through a highly-matrixed organization and hold accountability.
  • Effective team player who collaborates across teams and cross-functional departments.
  • Highly skilled at managing multiple priorities simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.

Education

  • 4-year degree in Business or related field or equivalent experience


95% Remote work; ~5% intermittent meetings with team in Irving (Dallas), Tx

Local candidates preferred. Relocation not covered.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$93,300 - $155,500
