Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Principal Architect specializing in MDM and related technologies. This role is pivotal in our ongoing mission to modernize and streamline our Enterprise Master Data Management practices and solutions across business units. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in designing and implementing Master Data solutions, guiding the technical architecture, development, and execution of the MDM technology roadmap and implementation across McKesson BUs. The successful candidate will enable MDM modernization, automation, and technology transformation, aligning IT strategies with business goals and fostering innovation in implementing enterprise-level MDM.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Vision: Spearhead the MDM architecture initiatives, ensuring alignment with McKesson’s strategic objectives and technology landscapes. Execute a comprehensive roadmap for MDM solutions that leverage SAP, Non-SAP and integration technologies.
- Solution Design: Craft robust, scalable, and innovative MDM solutions focusing on the seamless flow of accurate data across systems. Ensure alignment with industry best practices and organizational standards.
- Integration Expertise: Lead efforts to integrate MDM solutions with other Enterprise applications using automation, middleware and ETL tools. Champion the use of cutting-edge technologies to enhance data integration and quality.
- Collaboration & Mentorship: Foster a collaborative environment, working closely with cross-functional teams, including business partners, McKesson Technology solution architects, and system integrators. Provide mentorship and guidance to up-and-coming technical architects.
- Governance & Compliance: Ensure all MDM solutions comply with regulatory standards and internal governance policies. Implement best practices for data security, privacy, and integrity.
- Technical Project Management: Oversee the technical aspects of MDM implementations, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget. Address challenges proactively to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Ability to shift between the “big picture” and project level details. Works through detailed issues when required.
- Actively communicates with leadership, project sponsors, key stakeholders, and project teams.
- Thorough understanding of project management methodologies and best practices; to include Activate, Scrum, Agile and Waterfall.
- Ability to quickly adapt to changing business requirements and their corresponding technologies.
Minimum Requirements:
- Experience: 13+ years of relevant experience, with a minimum of 8 years in senior technical leadership roles within large, global organizations, specifically in MDM and Global ERP environments like SAP S4 and JDE.
- Data Management Skills: Expertise in data quality, stewardship, and governance processes. Strong understanding of source systems and data onboarding.
- SAP Expertise: Strong background in SAP S4 architecture, integration, and configuration. Proficiency in SAP Data Services, Ariba, BI, PI/PO, CPI, and similar integration tools. Understanding of SAP ERP modules like MM, SD, and FICO.
- Technical Skills: Expertise in data modeling, data governance frameworks, and data migration strategies. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or SAP Cloud Platform is highly desirable.
- Project Management: Proficiency in project management methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall. Experience with tools like Jira, Smartsheet, or MS Project.
Additional Skills:
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the Life Sciences or Pharmaceutical industries is a plus. Strong business acumen to align IT strategies with organizational goals.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Certifications: SAP certifications, particularly in MDM or related data domains, are highly desirable.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent professional experience.
Candidate must be authorized to work in the U.S, now or in the future, without support from McKesson.
Relocation is NOT budgeted for this position.

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.
