The Director of Sourcing – Operations & Equipment will lead a team dedicated to managing and executing sourcing and category management activities for Facility Operations and Equipment categories. The Director will guide the team through transformational changes by building strong stakeholder partnerships, establishing short and long-term category strategies, and leading sourcing events on a regional and global scale. The Director will collaborate with business partners to develop and execute cost effective strategies that mitigate financial and operational risks.

Key areas of category management responsibilities include, but are not limited to, Construction, Janitorial, Security, Safety, Waste and Capital Equipment for our facilities and operations. The Director will also be responsible for managing third party service workers that provide category oversight of certain categories. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead an internal and external dynamic category team, with a focus on strategic category management.
  • Provide team leadership, including professional development of all team members.
  • Set strategy for prioritizing and executing sourcing across all categories of spend.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to develop forward looking sourcing strategies aligned with business and financial objectives.
  • Work closely with the McKesson business partners to lead all sourcing related activities, delivering significant value for the business.
  • Identify and implement leading practices using market intelligence and spend analytics.
  • Share insights and analytics with functional business leaders to inform decision-making. 
  • Lead sourcing events along with a team that consists of business partners, Sourcing and Procurement (S&P) Category Leads, Sourcing & Contract Specialists.
  • Achieve financial and non-financial objectives to help the business sustain or enhance its competitive advantage. 
  • Function as liaison between suppliers and McKesson Business Units.
  • Lead periodic business reviews and supplier meetings with a focus to drive accountability and improve supplier performance.
  • Provide guidance to Contract and Sourcing Specialists across multiple categories.
  • Provide monthly forecast of projected savings.
  • Negotiate remediations with suppliers, when necessary.
  • Ensure adherence to company operations, policies, and procedures.
  • Manage highly confidential and critical information.

Minimum Requirements

  • 12+ years of strategic sourcing and category management expertise 
  • 4+ years of Leadership and Strategy development

Additional Knowledge & Skills

  • Relationship management expertise with business units and corporate functions.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Ability to engage and influence.
  • Problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent reading comprehension and the ability to understand complex contracts.
  • Strong written and oral communication experience writing agreements and creating SLA’s.
  • Presentation experience to large audiences and executive leaders.
  • Able to work across cultures effectively, valuing diversity within a virtual team.
  • Results oriented with a strong track record of performance.


Education

  • 4-year degree in related field or equivalent experience

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$137,400 - $229,000
