The Director of ServiceNow Solution Architecture will lead a team of solution architects, each focused on a particular module of ServiceNow. The team as a whole is responsible for providing architectural guidance and best practices in designing and developing tools and which enable ServiceNow capabilities for McKesson Technology. In this role, you will be responsible for working with our partners and teams to establish, integrate, and continuously evolve best practice processes in ServiceNow. You will also provide input to the ServiceNow roadmap, including onboarding integrations, processes, assets, and other relevant components to a unified ServiceNow platform to ensure consistent level of quality and service across the Enterprise.
This role demands strong teambuilding skills, technical acumen, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative mindset. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing teams that design and deliver ServiceNow solutions, enabling business outcomes while ensuring adherence to security and compliance requirements.
What You’ll Do:
Build and manage a team of solution architects, responsible for ensuring that development adheres to platform standards and best practices
Establish and maintain standards and practices for ServiceNow development, within the overall platform model.
Ensure team keeps relevant system documentation and architectural diagrams up to date and shared with enterprise architecture.
Participate in the technical evaluation of demands against ServiceNow module features, platform capabilities, best practices and the roadmap.
Direct team on prototyping and accelerating time from design to deployment.
Actively partner with enterprise architecture and other internal stakeholders to align the required diagrams and accommodations to MT standards, frameworks and policies.
Provide input and decisions to team regarding configuration and coding standards.
Support & align on remediation of configurations not aligned to ServiceNow best practices.
Provide expertise and consultation relating to the platform roadmap for features and capabilities to maximize platform value and build a sustainable platform.
Accountable for the development and maintenance of the detailed solution architecture documentation, ensuring transparency and knowledge sharing across teams.
Provide training and enablement activities to upskill teams on leveraging solution capabilities.
What We’re Looking For:
Minimum Requirements:
- Degree or equivalent experience. Typically has 12+ years of professional / technical experience
Critical Skills/Experience:
- A minimum of 12 years of experience in a variety of IT architecture, IT Service Management and/or Cloud computing roles (such as hands-on service delivery, operations management, consulting, etc.) with increasing levels of responsibility.
- Understanding and experience implementing and supporting the IT Operations Management capabilities of ServiceNow, including integrations, workflows, and service catalogs.
- Strong understanding of the ServiceNow platform data model, especially as related to shared tables (CMDB, tasks, etc.)
- Strong technical foundation in the Now Platform, either as an administrator or developer.
- Knowledge and experience in database design schemas, database modeling, and cloud application technology.
- Experience leading and managing technical teams and partnering with business stakeholders to define desired outcomes.
Additional Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Strong collaboration, facilitation, and negotiation skills to successfully partner with a diverse group of stakeholders.
- Experience designing systems to optimize IT operations.
- Relevant professional certification (e.g., ITIL credentials, ServiceNow certifications), strongly preferred.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.
