Job Summary:
The Director, Pharmacy Strategy will be responsible for developing and executing on national pharmacy strategies and initiatives related to drug pricing to drive revenue, improve margin, and reduce risk in accordance withthe business goals and priorities of McKesson Specialty Pharmacy. The incumbent must possessstrong data and analytical skills, financial acumen, and market insightsto drive recommendations on strategic pricing at a molecule and program level. The Director must have the ability to develop strong trusting client relationships with key partners such as Payors, Pharma manufacturers, and Providersand be the point of contact for internal McKesson stakeholders. The Director will be responsible for the contributing to the development of internal business cases and RFP responses, provide insights and recommendations, and be the primary Pharmacy lead for discussions, negotiations and execution of allnew business opportunities and programs.
*Position requires the candidate to be based in Ontario.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Innovate, develop, and execute best-in-class Payor programs and solutions to the insurance and benefits market.
- Liaise with critical cross functional departments including PSP, INVIVA, Provider Solutions, Finance, Technology, etc, to build and deliver Specialty drug programs and ensure that pharmacy business requirements are met.
- Conduct data analysis and provide insights on specialty pharmacy drug/program dispensing trends including pricing, billing, and revenue/margin trends.
- Develop financial profitability models to drive pricing and negotiation terms of new programs/solutions with clients including proformas and sensitivity analyses.
- Manage the Specialty Pharmacy Kroll Central Maintenance team members and be the KCM point of contact for IT/Technical/D&A team internal stakeholders.
- Lead and manage Kroll Pharmacy adjudication system, including insights and recommendations on KCM optimization.
- Strategically plan and direct pharmacy activities to reduce and mitigate claw backs from third party payer audits, documenting lessons learned and training pharmacies on best practices.
- Ensure Specialtypharmacy initiatives and programs are executed with excellence and operating efficiently, managing all issue resolution and escalations with clients.
- Drive thought leadership on the Payor Strategies and best practices through ongoing competitive market research to inform and optimize programs and solutions.
- Lead interactions within internal teams regardingpreferred pharmacy network strategy and act as a subject matter expert in the payor space (solutions and strategies) for all McKesson teams.
- Drive McKesson awareness and recognition in the Payor landscape and participate at key external meetings and events – conferences & presentations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in a relevant field, with a focus on pharmaceuticals or business administration, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years in profit and loss (P&L) management.
- 3+ years experience with Payor, Health and Drug benefit programs including Preferred Provider Network (PPNs), Patient support programs (PSPs), copay programs, case management and/or reimbursement programs.

- Experience with driving and supporting key business processes including RFP tenders.
- Project/program/product management experience an asset.
- Highly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced, challenging and constantly changing work environment.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.
