Site Safety Officer Specialist Job Description:

Associate will be responsible for: Ensure compliance to McKesson safety and security initiatives and that requirements are completed by due dates, which include but not limited to:

  • Safety Inspections and audits as assigned:
  • Monthly DC Warehouse Inspections, Lanyards/Harness, Ladders, Racking, Fire Extinguisher, Eyewash stations, AEDs
  • Safety Action Plan, Stretching throughout the DC, and Spill kit up-keep/maintenance
  • Safety trainings – Assigned through MCL, NESO/New Hire, Safety Awareness Topics, Start-up Meeting Quick Hit Topics, Safety Refreshers, Recertifications
  • Safety Portal and DC incident reporting support: Logging incidents, Investigation/Preventive Action, Follow-up, and Safety observations
  • Conduct powered industrial equipment training for new hires and retrain current employees as needed.
    • Maintain the integrity of the PIT processes and record accuracy on the PIT APP
    • Ensuring employee adherence to requirements (pre-shift inspections, PPE, Safe Operation)
  • Lead the building’s Safety Committee: Monthly meetings, Material preparation, Action item tracking and follow up through completion, and Safety Culture
  • Lead the building’s Spill Team: Team meetings and Monthly mock spills
  • Willing to assist the DC trainers as needed.
  • Enforce building cleanliness.
  • Projects and other tasks as required.

Shift Details: Monday – Friday 9:00 am, until completion of shift

Minimum Requirements:

  • 3+ years of related experience

Critical skills

  • Time management skills: Manage time wisely, self-motivated.
  • Professionalism: Reacts well under pressure; keeps emotions under control; team player
  • Communication skills: Communicate professionally both verbally and written: Speak with individuals to understand needs, investigate issues, Ability to explain research completed, and provide professional responses to DC Leadership
  • Basic Data analysis: Excel functions: filters, sum, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, Basic Math – add/subtract/multiple/divide
  • Power Equipment: (Required) Certified on Pallet Rider, Order Picker & Reach Truck, Complete the Crown PIT trainer course (within 6 months of hire)
  • Safety: Useof Safety Portal; Maintenance Connection, Smartsheet’s, SharePoint, and OSHA Training
  • Working knowledge of warehouse processes and safety programs

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.
