Position Description:

The McKesson Infrastructure Management team is seeking a seasoned professional responsible for leading the design, implementation, and management of enterprise VDI & Virtual compute technology solutions. This role is critical in driving innovation, ensuring operational excellence, and maintaining robust security and compliance across McKesson’s IT infrastructure.

Primary Responsibilities:

Innovation and Design:

  • Develop and maintain compute hypervisor and hardware technology design and standards.
  • Stay informed on emerging technologies and trends; recommend solutions to align with business needs.

Implementation and Deployment:

  • Lead the implementation and deployment of virtualized compute infrastructure to meet business unit requirements.
  • Manage cloud, virtualization, and physical platforms, ensuring seamless integration with existing IT systems.

Operational Excellence:

  • Oversee service providers' activities related to maintenance, upgrades, monitoring, and patching of infrastructure.
  • Optimize resources to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness; maintain accurate infrastructure documentation.

Security and Compliance:

  • Implement security measures to protect against cybersecurity threats; ensure compliance with McKesson’s security standards.

Strategic Relationships:

  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with technology partners and service providers; assist with contract negotiations.

Budget Management:

  • Develop and manage the annual budget based on business requirements and forecasted investments; identify cost-saving opportunities.

Team Leadership:

  • Recruit, coach, and manage a high-performing team; foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.

Requirements and Skills:

Education/Training:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field; equivalent experience or certifications preferred.

Specialized Knowledge/Skills:

  • 12+ years in enterprise VDI & virtual compute solutions management.
  • Strong grasp of financial and budgetary principles.
  • Proficient in infrastructure technology and emerging solutions.
  • Expertise in strategic, operational, and tactical IT planning.
  • In-depth knowledge of network protocols, security, SOX, and SOC compliance.
  • Skilled in leadership and strategic planning for cross-functional projects.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication with all organizational levels.
  • Experience in implementing large-scale infrastructure for shared services.
  • Manages IT metrics, SLAs, and OLAs for optimal service delivery.
  • Oversees vendor SLAs and manages service providers.
  • Focuses on infrastructure evolution for quality service through standard processes.
  • Senior escalation point for critical IT incidents; manages MSP relationships.
  • Develops strategic people plans for role alignment and engagement.
  • Strong organizational skills; manages multiple projects concurrently.
  • Familiar with ITIL and IT Service Management.
  • Azure and virtualization (Citrix, VMware, Hyper-V) certifications advantageous.
  • Excellent negotiation and shared services management skills.
  • Effective in influencing senior stakeholders in complex environments.
  • 5+ years in influencing senior management within large, cross-functional teams.

Traditional office environment with a hybrid work model.

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$117,500 - $195,900
