About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Program Operations Leader to oversee the execution of our transformation program. This role is responsible for establishing and managing governance processes, ensuring quality control in planning and execution, maintaining a consistent communications cadence, and tracking the value and financial aspects of the program. The Program Operations Leader will play a crucial role in maintaining the program cadence and ensuring smooth operations. Additionally, this role involves managing vendor relationships, developing automated reporting systems, and providing comprehensive insights into the program's health. The ideal candidate has a strong background in program and project management, with a focus on technology and digital transformation, and possesses excellent leadership and communication skills.

What You’ll Do:

  • Program Governance: Establish and manage governance processes to ensure effective oversight and management of the acceleration program. Develop and implement frameworks, tools, and processes for efficient program management, ensuring adherence to governance models for project success and value realization.
  • Quality Control: Oversee quality control during planning and execution to maintain high standards throughout the program lifecycle. Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance program quality and monitor program performance to identify and address areas for improvement.
  • Communications: Develop and maintain a comprehensive communications plan to keep all stakeholders informed and engaged. Facilitate open and effective communication between technical teams, business units, and external partners. Provide regular updates on program progress, challenges, and successes to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Financial Management: Oversee the financial planning and management of programs, ensuring alignment with organizational budgets and financial goals. Track and manage program budgets, forecast financial impacts, and implement cost-control measures. Deliver regular financial reporting and insights to executive leadership, identifying opportunities for cost optimization.
  • Program Cadence and Operations: Maintain the program cadence to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Identify bottlenecks, streamline workflows, and eliminate inefficiencies to accelerate delivery times. Foster a sense of urgency and commitment across teams to meet and exceed delivery expectations.
  • Vendor Management: Oversee relationships with external partners to ensure they meet contractual obligations and deliver high-quality services. Ensure partner services align with program goals and contribute to the overall success of the acceleration program.
  • Reporting: Lead the development of automated reporting systems to monitor all aspects of the program’s health. Ensure reports provide comprehensive insights into program performance, risks, and financial status, and utilize data-driven insights to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent experience. Typically has 13+ years of professional experience and 6+ years diversified leadership, planning, communication, organization and people motivation skill (or equivalent experience).

Critical Skills/Experience:

  • Experience:
    • 10+ years of experience in program and project management, with a focus on technology, infrastructure, and cloud transformation.
    • Demonstrated success in managing enterprise-scale initiatives and driving delivery acceleration.
    • Proven ability to deliver complex programs within aggressive timelines while maintaining high-quality outcomes.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, cloud technologies, and digital transformation trends.
    • Expertise in agile, waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies.
    • Experience with automated reporting systems and data-driven decision making.
  • Leadership Skills:
    • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization.
    • Strong leadership with a strategic mindset and a focus on execution.
    • Experience in vendor management, including managing vendor performance and negotiating commercial frameworks
  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
  • Certifications:
    • PMP, PgMP, or other relevant certifications preferred

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$160,700 - $267,800
