Job Summary:
The Network Security Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing and supporting network security devices to protect against internal and external intrusions, attacks, and hacks. This candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with Palo Alto Firewalls and Zscaler’s ZIA (Zscaler Internet Access) and ZPA (Zscaler Private Access). This role involves implementing Zero Trust principles to ensure robust security across our network infrastructure. You will play a critical role in deploying and managing our security systems to protect our digital assets.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage network security solutions using Palo Alto Firewalls, ZScaler (ZIA & ZPA), and Network Access Control solutions.

  • Design and implement Zero Trust network architectures, ensuring security across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

  • Configure, manage, and optimize Palo Alto Networks firewalls (NGFW, Panorama, GlobalProtect/Prisma Access) for secure access and segmentation.

  • Deploy and manage Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) and Zscaler Private Access (ZPA) to enable secure and seamless cloud-based connectivity.

  • Develop and enforce Zero Trust policies, including micro-segmentation, least privilege access, and identity-based security controls.

  • Implement automation and orchestration solutions to enhance security posture and streamline network security operations.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security protocols into existing and new network designs.

  • Stay up to date with the latest security trends, threats, and technologies to ensure a proactive security posture.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members and stakeholders.

  • Prepare and maintain documentation related to network security architecture, policies, and procedures.


Minimum Requirement - Degree or equivalent and typically requires 10+ years of relevant experience. Less years required if has relevant Master’s or Doctorate qualifications.
Critical Skills-

  • 10+ years of experience in network security engineering, with a strong focus on implementing Palo Alto Firewalls and ZScaler solutions.

  • Proven experience implementing Zero Trust architecture in an enterprise environment.

  • In-depth knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and security technologies.

  • Relevant certifications such as PCNSE (Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer), ZCCP, ZCSE, CISSP, CCSP, or Azure Security are a plus.

  • Scripting and automation experience (Python, Terraform, Ansible).

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Candidate must be authorized to work in the U.S, now or in the future, without the support from McKesson.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$144,600 - $241,000
