Current Need

McKesson is a leading provider of distribution and commercialization solutions for pharmaceutical manufacturers.  We are looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic, and dependable leader to join our Specialty Distribution Team.  The Sr. Manager, Specialty Distribution Product Access is responsible for managing the restricted access to a $100B limited specialty distribution product portfolio.  This role will provide leadership, coaching and development to a team of Client Management Specialists who operationalize contractual requirements for manufacturer partners regarding COT, limited distribution drugs, as well as other restricted access requirements.  This team is also responsible for supporting customers within McKesson Plasma and Biologics (MPB) with access to these restricted drugs. 

This leader will work closely with the Strategic Pricing & Manufacturer Relations team, manufacturer partners, and sales leaders to ensure that we have operational excellence, efficiencies and rigor in the support provided from the Product Access team.   This role is also responsible for participating in cross-functional initiatives, providing subject matter expertise with strategic business partners, partnering with groups across PSaS to build value added solutions for manufacturer partners, and challenging the status quo to determine how we continue to evolve our capabilities in granting product access.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee limited distribution drug contractual requirements for Specialty Distribution manufacturer partners.
  • Assign workload among Client Specialists appropriately and ensure that agreed upon SLAs are met
  • Interpret / negotiate distribution service agreement limited distribution network language.
  • Manage membership network code (MNC) creation by determining the logic for new MNCs.
  • Participate in customer facing calls and meetings regarding limited distribution drug access.
  • Keep up to date on market trends regarding LDDs.
  • Oversee customer audits to ensure accurate product access.
  • Identify areas to continuously evolve and improve the product access process.
  • Foster strong relationships with business stakeholders and navigate McKesson as a team player.
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives, while serving as a SME for product restrictions and customer access
  • Create SLAs, KPIs, scorecards, and reporting to show the impact of the Product Access team.
  • Provide product access updates at different stakeholder levels, including with sales leaders, and the SPMR executive leadership team.
  • Manage, coach and develop Product Access Client Specialists

Minimum Requirements

  • Typically requires 9+ years of professional experience and 1+ years of supervisory and/or management experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline

Critical Skills

  • 7+ years’ data management experience
  • 6+ years’ experience in pharmaceutical distribution
  • 5+ years’ experience in specialty distribution
  • 1+ years’ people leadership experience

Additional Skills

  • Team player with strong interpersonal and resource management skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with client management, contract implementation, and customer service.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with demonstrated ability to build partnerships and influence in a cross functional, highly matrixed environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Specialty Distribution processes
  • Demonstrated ability to build partnerships and influence outcomes.
  • Advanced analytics and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written, oral, and presentation skills
  • Excellent relationship management skills with demonstrated ability to work with internal groups.
  • Thorough knowledge of company’s products, processes, and strategy
  • Experience utilizing SAP Application
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Working Conditions:

  • Up to 20% domestic and international as needed

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$94,300 - $157,100
