Current Need

The McKesson Corporate FP&A team is hiring a Senior Manager. Ideally, this candidate will be local to the Dallas / Fort Worth TX area. Other McKesson designated HUB sites for this job are Richmond VA, Columbus OH, Atlanta GA, The Woodlands TX, and Montreal QC Canada. This is a remote position, but candidates should reside near one of these locations in order to be able to go on-site as needed.

Position Description

This individual will oversee and maintain the financial management of a corporate functional department.  He/she will manage important finance activities such as the annual planning process, the monthly forecast process, as well as monthly results review.  This individual will serve as a strategic partner to senior leaders within these organizations to ensure their goals can be met in a fiscally sound manner.    In addition, he/she will perform analysis to build business cases for funding requests and identify areas of efficiencies.

Executive presence is important as this individual will present to a variety of executives and corporate leaders.  This individual will be firmly embedded within the department teams and will be considered critical to their success.  He/she  should be inquisitive, pro-active and self-driven.  Due to the confidential nature of the work, this person must display appropriate sensitivity and be of unquestionable integrity.

This position will report to the Director of Corp FP&A with a dotted line reporting relationship to specific senior leaders within the corporate functions he/she will support.  This position will work daily with internal members of our team as well as cross-functionally. He/she will work heavily in Hyperion, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monthly forecast creation and variance reporting – Responsible for working closely with the business partner team to provide visibility to their progress to budget and variances that may arise throughout the year.  Using this information, he/she will work with the team to develop accurate forecasts for both current and future fiscal years.  When unfavorable gaps to plan are identified, this individual will work closely with their business partners to determine opportunities to close the gaps with other initiatives.  This individual is expected to automate and streamline reporting so more time can be spent understanding business drivers and areas that could become derailers or opportunities to the financial results.  Additionally, this individual will be responsible to ensure any allocation variances are clearly explained and communicated to the affected Business Units regularly.
  • Annual planning process – Responsible for preparing the annual operating plan for the department in partnership with department leadership and corporate finance.  This individual also plays a key role in developing the annual strategic (long-range) plan, coordinating the annual strategic plan process across department leads, liaison groups, and FP&A team members. When new investments are requested by departments, this individual will work closely with them to develop a business case/ROI that supports the investments requested. 
  • Executive presentations and other ad hoc analysis as required – Support business partners with quarterly or annual report outs on their operational & financial results as well as other ad hoc requests that arise.

Minimum Requirements

Degree or equivalent experience. Typically requires 6+ years of professional experience and 1+ years of supervisory and/or management experience.

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to think objectively and interpret meaningful themes from quantitative and qualitative data
  • Relationship Management: Able to build constructive and effective relationships with our department team, business & corporate partners
  • Financial Reporting: Ability to drive and manage the reporting integrity of financial reporting, both external and internal
  • Influencing and Negotiation: Ability to influence at all levels, as well as a demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team and be assertive in driving successful strategies
  • Presentation Skills: Effective in a variety of presentation settings including one-on-one, small and large groups, and with peers and bosses
  • Financial and Business Acumen: Ability to evaluate financial and business indicators and translate data into actionable information for department leadership
  • High level proficiency in MS Office

Additional Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of Hyperion Planning or HFM a plus
  • Experience with financial modeling/development of ROIs & Business Cases
  • Experience working in a large, matrixed institutional setting

Education

A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field is desired, or equivalent work experience in a related field.  An MBA is a plus.

Environment

Traditional office requirements. Large percentage of time performing computer-based work is required.

As part of Total Rewards, we are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson. This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$96,900 - $161,500
