Job Summary:

Act as a trusted advisor and leader who partners with business stakeholders and executives to design a vision and architecture for a solution to a business problem. Often in the position of the technical team leader, help educate the team with technical best practices. You also translate business needs to a technical vision that teams of low code or pro code builders can execute on. Also build proofs-of-concept (POCs) that teams can further iterate on.

You will be responsible for the technical oversight of the Salesforce platform including managing upgrades, maintaining security and integrity of data, and ensuring system performance by constantly reviewing and refining the system's technical settings. The Platform/Technical Architect is responsible for the Architecture Review Function of the Enterprise service

You are the trusted technology leader at the table and are often tasked with building buy-in for new solutions. While you might not know the answer to every question a business stakeholder might ask, you are experts on Salesforce product capabilities and can think quickly and act fast. Your soft skills allow them to understand all stakeholder needs and communicate with them in their language.

Job Description:

  • Evaluate functional and technical requirements on high impact and large complex projects that can span multiple software technologies.

  • Responsibility includes defining architectural approach and development methods, process engineering, code review, and product demonstrations. 

  • Act as a point of contact and escalation for key product support. 

  • Ensure that systems are architected to consistency with technical best practices and business outcomes

  • Responsible for pushing back on predefined solutions that will not achieve long term success.

  • Ensure that DevOps environment is optimized and inclusive of security by design

  • Collaborate with other Architects to ensure enterprise standards Identify business requirements and requirements from the stakeholders on projects.  Design configurable enterprise system based on requirements.  

  • Choose system architecture and each individual component.  

  • Help troubleshoot, resolve and track Salesforce end-user issues.

  • Support architectural review and code-review.

  • Help in creating unified development standards in the company.

  • Control the architecture during the next iteration of the system release.

  • Demo technical solutions for customers and users.

  • Analyze new business processes and perform business process re-engineering.

Minimum Requirements

  • Typically requires 10+ years of relevant experience.

Critical Skills:

  • 8+ years in an engineering / architect role with the focus on Salesforce

  • Demonstrated experience in leading or mentoring others.

  • Salesforce Certified Technical Architect (CTA)

  • Salesforce.com experience is required.

  • Salesforce cloud environment is required.

  • Building apps using Service Cloud, Community Cloud, Health Cloud, Marketing Cloud as well as Salesforce platform.

  • Multiple complex deployments with at least 2+ years on the Force.com platform as a lead architect, implementing Salesforce applications.

  • Object-oriented design patterns (OOAD) with knowledge of platform-specific design patterns and limits.

  • Integration patterns and experience with integration on the Force.com platform and IPAAS.

  • Data migration and common ETL tools (Informatica Cloud or Dell Boomi or Mulesoft).

  • Experience building applications, including understanding in multiple technology stacks and Salesforce.  

  • Knowledge of data modeling and clear understanding of data structures and relationships.

Preferred Experience:

  • Communication skills with the ability to work with various business and IT areas

  • Ability to collaborate with different business and IT areas at different levels of the organization.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Agile experience a plus but not required.

  • Atlassian suite experience is desired.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree (Information Technology/Information Systems or related), or equivalent experience.

As part of Total Rewards, we are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson. This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$138,800 - $231,300
