Résumé de l’emploi :

La personne travaillera en étroite collaboration avec le département de la fiscalité mondiale et l’équipe de la fiscalité canadienne de Montréal et de Toronto. Le poste gérera une équipe de 1 à 2 personnes.  Les principaux domaines d’intérêt comprendront la conformité à l’impôt sur le revenu des sociétés au Canada, lesprovisions pour impôts pour les fins des états financiers US GAAP, les vérifications de l'impôt sur le revenu, le soutien aux projets spéciaux et la planification fiscale Canadienne/Américaine.

Responsabilités :

• Collaborer avec les consultants externes pour s’assurer que toutes les tâches de conformité fiscale et de provision fiscale sont effectuées en temps opportun

• Gérer les vérifications fiscales des gouvernements fédéral et provinciaux

• Répondre aux questions fiscales des unités commerciales et fournir des solutions pratiques

• Examiner les allocations inter sociétés pour assurer la conformité aux fins fiscales

• Utiliser les outils technologiques pour collecter efficacement les données, dans le but d’améliorer les processus

• Soutenir des projets spéciaux en vue d’optimiser les résultats fiscaux tout en gérant les risques fiscaux

• Sensibiliser les unités commerciales aux questions fiscales et partager les meilleures pratiques

• Effectuer des recherches et des analyses fiscales et surveiller les lois fiscales et les mises à jour législatives

• Gérer l’équipe de collaborateurs directs dans leur travail quotidien

• Fournir du coaching aux membres de l’équipe pour soutenir leur croissance et leur engagement au travail

Qualifications Exigences du poste :

• Titre de comptable professionnel : CPA

• Au moins 7 ans d’expérience pertinente en fiscalé incluantune certaine expérience de la gestion d’une équipe

• Capacité à travailler de manière autonome dans une structure d’entreprise complexe

• Solide connaissance de la comptabilité fiscale souhaitée

• Esprit d’équipe et capacité à s’adapter aux besoins des différentes parties prenantes

• Excellentes compétences de communication : capacité à expliquer des concepts fiscaux complexes à une audience non fiscal

• Solides compétences organisationnelles et expérience de la gestion de projet

• Maîtrise de Microsoft Office, y compris Outlook, Word et Excel est un atout

• La connaissance de TaxPrep, SAP et FCSS (Financial Consolidation & Close Service) est un plus

Le/la titulaire de ce poste aura à soutenir de façon quotidienne des clients internes et/ou externes à l’extérieur du Québec et/ou aux États-Unis. Par conséquent, ce poste requiert une maîtrise de l’anglais à l’écrit et à l’oral. Job Summary:

This role will work closely with the Global Tax Department based in the U.S. and Canadian Tax team based in Montreal & Toronto. The position will manage a team of 1 to 2 people. Primary areas of focus will include Canadian corporate income tax compliance, tax provisions supporting US GAAP financial statements, income tax audits, and support special projects and Canadian/US tax planning.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with external provider to ensure all tax compliance and tax provision tasks are completed in a timely manner.

  • Manage federal and provincial government tax audits.

  • Support business units with tax queries and provide practical solutions.

  • Review intercompany allocations to ensure compliance for tax purposes.

  • Utilize technology tools to collect data efficiently with the goal of process improvement.

  • Support special projects with a view to optimize tax outcomes while managing tax risk.

  • Raise awareness of tax matters in business units and share best practices.

  • Conduct tax research and analyses and monitor tax laws and legislation updates.

  • Manage team of direct reports in their day-to-day work.

  • Provide coaching to team members to support their growth and work engagement.

Position Requirements:

  • Professional accounting designation: CPA.

  • Minimum 7 years of experience of pertinent tax experience including experience with managing a team.

  • Ability to work independently in a complex corporate structure.

  • Strong tax accounting knowledge is preferred.

  • Team player with ability to adapt to different stakeholders’ needs.

  • Excellent communication skills: ability to explain complex tax concepts to non-tax personnel.

  • Strong organizational skills and experience managing projects.

  • Excellent English skills, both written and spoken as this role will cover Canada and be in constant communication with US Headquarters. Fluency in French is a plus.

  • Autonomous, good judgment, resourceful and reliable.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

  • Knowledge of TaxPrep, SAP and FCCS (Financial Consolidation & Close Service) is a plus.

The incumbent of this position will provide daily support to internal and/or external clients outside Quebec and/or in the United States. Therefore, he/she must be proficient in spoken and written English. Please note that the number of positions requiring English language skills has been limited where possible.
