Current Need:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced sales leader to oversee our Government Inside Sales Team based in Richmond, Virginia. This hybrid role requires regular in-office presence each week to foster collaboration and team engagement. Our preferred candidate will currently reside within a 40-mile radius of Richmond. Job Description:

The Government Inside Sales Manager is responsible for leading a professional team of Inside Sales Account Managers who sell medical and surgical products to state and local government facilities and equipment products to federal and state agencies. Driving and coaching sales through objectives is the top priority in this role. Using situational leadership skills, this manager will coach and develop team members of all experience levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for effectively managing team performance and driving accountability to achieve or exceed sales and operational targets.

  • Accountable for ongoing department strategy and initiatives

  • Sales Reporting: Identifying strengths and opportunities for growth

  • Sales execution and accountability of his/her team

  • Work independently with minimal oversight

Minimum Requirements:

  • 6+ years of professional experience

  • 2 years of supervisory experience

Critical Skills:

  • Proven successful in leading, mentoring and motivating a team of business professionals

  • Experience managing a sales territory and sales strategies

  • Experience working with government agencies and understanding government compliance policies

  • Intermediate to advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications

  • Must have experience and share viable examples of communicating sales results and identifying areas of strength and needed improvement

  • Strong analytical background

Additional Knowledge & Skills:

  • Sales experience within healthcare/ pharmaceuticals/ medical surgical strongly preferred

  • Professional business-to-business inside sales acumen

  • Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills

  • Extensive experience working with CRM. Salesforce.com preferred

  • Must have experience developing sales strategies for maximum results while managing timelines and team performance

Education:

  • High school diploma required.

  • 4- year degree in business related field or equivalent experience preferred

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.  In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered. Our Total Target Cash (TTC) Pay Range for this position:

$85,500 - $142,500

Total Target Cash (TTC) is defined as base pay plus target incentive.
