The Data Enrichment Manager will be responsible for leading a team of Item-focused business intelligence analysts. They will ensure the accuracy of data related to our items, with a particular focus on complex attributes.

This role involves overseeing the design, development, and execution of processes to build and manage intricate data elements from various internal and external sources related to item attributes. These attributes include, but are not limited to, Hazmat coding, Tax coding, Atomic Unit of Measure, and more. Additionally, depending on the candidate's skill set and interests, there may be opportunities to engage in project management, product management, process improvement, and other activities. The Data Enrichment Manager will report directly to the Director of Data Enrichment.

Specific Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and implement item data governance strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Lead and manage a team of data governance analysts, providing guidance, coaching, and support in executing data governance activities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, sales, and finance, to define and enforce data governance standards and best practices
  • Establish and maintain item master data quality controls, including data validation rules, data cleansing processes, and data quality metrics
  • Analyze and assess data-related issues, identify root causes, and propose innovative solutions to improve data quality and integrity
  • Provide guidance and training to end-users on item data governance processes, standards, and tools
  • Establish and report on team Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track and measure team performance
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders to understand their requirements and establish/align Service Level Agreements (SLAs) accordingly
  • Monitor and analyze team performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement appropriate strategies
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in data governance and master data management


Critical Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in data management, data governance, master data management, data analytics, or related roles
  • Strong understanding of data management principles, including data quality, data integration, and data modeling
  • Proficiency in SQL coding and concepts is required for this position. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of SQL and be able to write queries, manipulate data, and perform basic database operations
  • Proficiency in data-related technologies and tools, such as PowerBI, Python, and R is a plus
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data-related issues and propose effective solutions
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts and technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment, build strong relationships, and foster a collaborative culture
  • Proven leadership and change management abilities, with experience in leading teams (directly or indirectly), driving change initiatives, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to align data governance strategies with business objectives and drive business performance through effective data management
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Data Management, Information Systems, Business Administration) or equivalent experience

As part of Total Rewards, we are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson. This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$90,000 - $150,000
