The Technology Project Manager is responsible for the direction, coordination, implementation, executive, control and completion of an IT project, while remaining aligned with the organization's strategy, commitments and goals.This role will manage key client projects for implementing software applications in the McKesson Oncology Portfolio. The successful candidate will work directly with internal teams and clients to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope and budget. He or she will coordinate with other departments to ensure all aspects of each project are compatible. Note: Applicants can be located anywhere in the US.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
Ensure resource availability and allocation
Develop and manage a detailed project plan to monitor, track and report progress
Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
Report and escalate to management as needed
Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
Perform risk management to minimize project risks
Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
Meet with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project
Ensure all project tasks have proper ownership and that the ownerspossess the correct skills and experience to complete
Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals
Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis
Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients as well as other staff members
Use and continually develop leadership skills
Support project go-live activities
Perform other related duties as assigned
Develop spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs
Minimum Requirement
Degree or equivalent and typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience
Critical Skills
4+ years project management experience with system implementations
4+ years' experience in project management
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office
Additional Skills
Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
Experience in Healthcare or other regulated field
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification (Preferred)
Travel
Up to 10% travel required
